Max speed stated on meter always overrated la.


For those who remembered i complain about a squeak at the rear suspension... I finally narrowed down (DIY) to what is causing it. It is because of the Polyurethane Bump stop squeaking during natural movement of the absorber. I have squirted a bit of Silicone Lubricant spray at the top of it. Squeak is now gone. Case close.

All you need to do is to jack up the butt, access to the shock absorber dust boot, pry it off its seat, pull it down to reveal the Polyurethane Bump stop. Then squirt some silicone lubricant spray at the top of the bump stop (inside). Plug back the dust boot to its seat and lower the car down.... all done .

I highly suggest silicone lubricant gels OR spray rather than the usual WD40. Why? Silicone based lubricants does not deteriorate rubber bushes. And it is more slippery and longer lasting (can see that its still wet after few days).

For those who do not know what does Polyurethane Bump stop looks like....refer below. Note: It comes as stock in most cars. Some are this type as photo and some are rubber types or more less similar designs.

feel no mood going to SC. better waiting for next month 35k service....wanna ask about 'klek' 'klek' rattling sound in my front right door. better they give good answers coz last time prob. about my vibrating brake they advice to do balancing but actually the fault is brake pad itself- burnt off already

Aiya... just go buy ur brake pad urself and change, Trestor Advantage Blue or Bendix Titanium Strip good and cheap.
Only scared ur Disc Rotor wrap only.

guys! my friend just got his brand new vios G spec facelife version number plant "WUB 20XX"...
he is so "LC" want to challenge my elegance, from 0 to acceleration and till top speed...
in terms of engine cc and horse power is lower than persona a bit, but on the other hand, the body weight is 200kg lighter than persona and he is using 185 60 15R and persona is using 195 60 15R.
i scare persona will lose due to weight and wide tire drag.

any command on this? just a friendly testing on our car capacity only... but scare that persona will...

Yup. already done. installed at tyre shop about RM100(front set), forgot the brand. in receipt just serial number only.

i really like this persona elegance model and geram on what he said. well, you might say that it is a childish act. but if elegance win, then it will shut his mouth for good and slap his own face for all the bad commend he said on our car.

if persona really wins, then everyone (including me) will roll our eyes and leave a big hole in between our mouth and say: "wow, proton cars specially the persona really is a car that performs"....

had told him that, but he commend that proton is either still have old heavy technology in their cars or don't know how to design cars.
the new cars now a days is design to be as light as possible to maximize the handling and fuel efficiency, he added. he also said that honda city is around 1 ton.

i told him that price is at least 10k more expensive compare to their cars. and he just throw one word: "cheap stuff no good stuff"...

Vios despite it has better QC than Proton, the spec of it is actually very crappy, not to mention it is in subcompact category, similar to Saga from Proton, while Persona is compact category, which should be compared to Altis and NOT Vios..

if he want to LC u kao kao.. he should buy at least a Civic, or Altis, or Peaugeot 308 Turbo

Both auto, i think Persona will lose on pickup due to driven by wire and body heavy, but if go top speed and cornering i think persona will win.
Better replace ur stock brake pad bosch to better one first before try




But if u really want to test please make sure no others car around...can test safely...also cause of this geram i scared will cause some injuries or worst.

one more to add, the Dugong Vios paint quality is definitely inferior than Persona

I can confirm that

the new vios interior is very very highclass... skin color leather sits... the sound system is quite good too. i like the way toyota done on the interior.
they even give brigestone potenza 185 60 15R stock tires.
persona to compare with altis? hummm... anyway, i think the upcoming new car that will ganti waja should be the right car to compare
but i totally agree with you on the space available in vios... it is so small, only sightly bigger than madza 2 sedan

knot to 60 our Persona might lose because of the torque lag, but top speed and cornering......say bye bye to him.

I've been driving the new vios for a few times, seriously its cornering ability put the fear in me

no worries... just to get the answer only... will only test on very straight road... thought of trying if out on KL-Putrajaya Highway... the road there is quite good and less car compared to others. thanks for the concern...

actually i don't quite agree with you on the cornering part... did you notice that car is lack of power when rpm is below 2.8k? normally this is the common driving style for most of the road users. and yet our car's power is not there... i know it will auto lower the gear quickly once you step on the peddle just a bit more, but as the rpm when back to 3k and above to get the power, will clearly notice the engine is roaring and one thing will come in mind "petrol"...

it is the same case happen to Mitsubishi Evo Vlll shown in TOP GEAR if i'm not mistaken, the turbo lack on 3k rpm and below is useless, even a normal Renault normal daily small sedan can out run the evo and when the time evo gets its power on high rpm, they ran out of road...

don't get me wrong, i do like my car very much, just felt that proton still have room to improve on the things that i mention.

only for G spec or TRD, E spec still use the ciplak fabric cushion

I LOL'ed at the design of the air cond knobs inside dugong Vios, looks like the oven temperature knob only..

Persona size is comparable to Altis, they both belongs to compact category, despite Persona engine is smaller capacity

are you using stock tires, as in 195 60 15R?
i'm not comfortable wack corners with those continental tires and size... if 195 55 15R or 195 50 16R even with falken - i will dare...

is our torque rally lag? the blacks and whites written is more that vios?!? mayb our car body is heavy than their's...
