PerSona
(+) point = grips very well, similar to brothers..Gen2.
(+) point = the rear suspension works, u can feel it at slalom test.
(-) point = FC is so bad. Averagely 225-260km(or even less) per RM60..now, sometimes i also feel like cannot tahan with the FC liao..visit petrol station quite frequent wink.gif
shocking.gif
Mine can get 300 - 350 on normal highway and road usage.

I prefer the Persona's image though. Personal opinion tongue.gif
The new City... trying to hard to copy BMW
Vios... I'd rather get the old one.

mine also AT (SE) can go about ~380km...
>> probably me light on the foot.. eheh
if on highway, max i can go ~470km (auto cruise help a lot. luv it very much)  rclxms.gif

Thats totally bad.. if i drive my another new city.. rm 63 can go 630km to 580km.. maybe is time to put my lousy persona elegance at home.. too costly for the petrol mad.gif

hey guys... just wanted to ask u guys here do anyone of you here replaced the crankshaft angle sensor? Last Sunday when i'm driving around Subang Parade, my Persona( auto, 1yr+) suddenly die off without any sign.... the engine just cut off.... when i try to start up the engine, the rpm meter shows 8000rpm but it just cant start. so i called my insurance tow service to tow my car to Proton SC Glenmarie. The SA there told me that it's because of this crankshaft angle sensor failure that give out this problem and he said that it's FAMOUS among persona.... this sensor cost around 100+... lucky my car is still under warranty....i changed it for free... but it took me one whole day!

yes. below is the comparison:-

- Gen2's front spring is different from persona whereby persona's is conical shaped at the top.
- Gen2 and persona shares the same rear springs though but i am not quite sure about the rear absorber.
- Gen2's front absorber is totally different from Persona because when compared side by side, gen2's absorber spring seat is about 1 whole inch lower than Persona's front shock absorber. I believe the rear absorber is also having such difference.

So if you guys wanna swap whole gen2 suspension to Persona, u can do so. Just need to buy new shocks x 4, new front gen2 spring and new front gen2 spring upper seat. tongue.gif

Rear absorber is still under independent investigation by me. whistling.gif

btw, don u guys feel that the front suspension is kinda stiff under certain road condition?

on another issue... i am having some nyek nyek sound problem at the rear suspension. pls bear in mind that even before i replaced to low springs this has been an issue but i never really got to bring it up to SC.

anyone knows what is wrong? i highly suspect its the suspension arm rubber bushings being too "sticky" causing friction sound.

hi jason, it's not being sticky.much of the "nyek nyek" sound is coming from a dry out bushing. One trick that i have always do is to spray any joint and bushing with silicone spray or WD40 ( i prefer silicon spray,it's hold much more longer). That should do the tricks thumbup.gif

hey xef! thanks for the advice. i usually spray wd40 but that does not hold up long. btw, if i were to use silicone grease or heavy duty grease and slap it at the arm bushings etc... does it do good as well?

bro, i experience the same problem just like u. i was driving down the hill when suddenly the engine died. i called a repairman from the nearest proton (bt caves) and explained the thingy (8000rpm when try to start) and straight away advices me to tow the car. snet it to the Mutiara Damansara Proton since i called proton bt caves they dun hav that sensor. i have to leave it there for a day since a lot of car on Q edi.changed and no charge since under warranty but not really beware~hope it wont happen again~ sweat.gif
