The other coil springs are for the front. Rear coils are smaller whereas fronts are much bigger in diameter. It's different.

Yes with stock absorber. In the future when it kong then i will replace it with Performax absorber.

Highly dependent on the following:

- Correct tire pressure
- Traffic condition
- Places u go or live. For example, FC is sure sky high if there is a lot of stop and go and hilly areas.
- Much much much better FC noted especially in cities having long highways etc with not much stop and go.
- How heavy is ur foot.

Persona is already very2 high. My as well buy 4wd or equivalent. hehehe....

ewww man..... that is the main thing i hate about Persona but still end of the day i buy it because its best value for money in this price range. Poor man's sedan.

I wonder if the tester is a REAL qualified person or those come out from cap ayam educational bodies .... or worst.... a nobody.

yes. below is the comparison:-

- Gen2's front spring is different from persona whereby persona's is conical shaped at the top.
- Gen2 and persona shares the same rear springs though but i am not quite sure about the rear absorber.
- Gen2's front absorber is totally different from Persona because when compared side by side, gen2's absorber spring seat is about 1 whole inch lower than Persona's front shock absorber. I believe the rear absorber is also having such difference.

So if you guys wanna swap whole gen2 suspension to Persona, u can do so. Just need to buy new shocks x 4, new front gen2 spring and new front gen2 spring upper seat.

Rear absorber is still under independent investigation by me.

btw, don u guys feel that the front suspension is kinda stiff under certain road condition?

on another issue... i am having some nyek nyek sound problem at the rear suspension. pls bear in mind that even before i replaced to low springs this has been an issue but i never really got to bring it up to SC.

anyone knows what is wrong? i highly suspect its the suspension arm rubber bushings being too "sticky" causing friction sound.

hey xef! thanks for the advice. i usually spray wd40 but that does not hold up long. btw, if i were to use silicone grease or heavy duty grease and slap it at the arm bushings etc... does it do good as well?

Yea i do hv to agree. It's actually pretty darn good for its price already even though its still damn overpriced thanks to our government super high tax.

Btw, i also noticed that elegance model, they upgraded the cooling system as well. See that they have additional fan supposedly for the aircond.

I will never ever forget the night when i was ALMOST involved in a high speed crash along a straight wet road during heavy rain middle of the night. It happened to me few years ago when i drove my Civic with no technological stuffs like ABS. Misjudged the upcoming traffic slowing down while driving at 100kmh. Hit the brakes to slow down..... damn getting to near... hit it harder and it immediately skidded straight on fast approaching another newer generation civic. At the time the speed was estimated to be about 90kmh. My ABS equipped right leg ( ) pumping away to gather further front grip..It managed to slow down more but still not enough. It happened soo fast that in that split second in order to possibly crash out...., my corner of my eyes looked left at the side mirror to spot if there is any headlamp resembling a car at my side. Let go brakes, swerve left, brake again....missing the front car rear bumper by mere inches....phewwwwww!!!!! Lucky my rear didnt "buang" as a result if got sure masuk monsoon drain at the left portion of the road.

That was the most intense moment of my life. Reliving past a possible fatal accident. True story.

- yes though it does sound improper but that is what i see all the time also. not nice to see but it works as good. of cos there is the proper way which is using coil spring silencer wraps.

- i went to the workshop and they told me the nyek nyek sound is from the unusual new angle of the big arm bushing due to lowering? said that it might be temporary the sound..humm..... i am wondering got like that meh? ahahah

- started driving with low tech car with no ABS, no EBD, no airbag, anyways.... 1984 car.....so what tech it have? hahah.. so yea, takes a lot of practice and of cos, there is no denying that the real ABS works much better than human operated ABS!
- Yes, i have several friends who swears by ABS technology that helps them in many situations. To me, that is just too dependent already. I have been in fast and furious driving for over 10 years and i seldom find myself skidding away due to heavy braking... It's all about getting to know the car that you are driving and how to control it once it goes out of control.


- yealo... i myself when i started driving at age 15 (illegal). and every time i get behind the wheels, i always find that the accelerator pedal is stucked to the floor. smoking the brakes everyday and speeds always above 100kmh driving like a jet fighter zooming in and out. those were my crazy days... and its pretty much over though i still speed today. Married liaw mah got extra ppl sitting beside me liaw... last time when im young and hot blooded i dun bother.
- its funny... now that i think back, sometimes i get a bit freaked out of the way i drive last time. and when i see young Probationary drivers method of driving on the road, it reminds me of my crazy years when i was like them...... i am quite lucky that nothing serious ever happened to me last time only except that i did ever crashed out when i hit the brakes too hard too near a curved road and too near the curb....

anyway, back to the thread... yea i think all new cars should come equipped with at least ABS or airbags as standard safety equipments.

Depending on how serious the accident was, eventhough hit and run.... one can actually report to police with the alleged hit and run third party registration number. Police or insurance company will therefore look up their registration number and claim against their insurance company. Some ppl do that.

But since urs is minor... its not worth the hassle. U from KL? KL drivers really really especially motorcyclist. Should hv their license revoked.

if the paint base have not really been scratched off revealing metal surface below.... you could just try a little hard work scrubbing using WAX. It is WAX NOT POLISH ok? Dun polish ur new car paint job as it will spoil it. I experienced a rempit crashing into my rear bumper side ways with my ex car and i was lucky enough that through hard work of scrubbing... it actually works to remove the scratches.

Added on June 23, 2010, 4:12 pmUsed Falken Ziex (forgot which model number) and pretty happy with it. The side walls aren't too stiff. Grips pretty well also. And quiet. It was 205 45 R16 Falken rubbers
