QUOTE Ratchet & Clank and Resistance developer Insomniac Games has entered into a multi-platform publishing partnership with EA Partners, breaking a 16-year streak of PlayStation exclusivity.
While terms of the agreement were not disclosed, it was revealed that the deal covers an entirely new franchise created by the company, which will be published on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.
"We know that [EA Partners] works with some of the top independent developers in the world who own their IP, and we as a development studio were looking for a publishing partner with global reach that does things on multiplatforms," Insomniac's Ted Price told 1UP.
"Our goal here was to reach even more players by going to the Xbox 360 with this new franchise. However, we also are continuing to work with Sony on various games, and we remain just as committed to our relationship with them as ever," he continued.
Insomniac is not ready to discuss any details about the new franchise -- refusing even to acknowledge whether it is hardcore-oriented like Resistance or family-friendly like Ratchet & Clank or Spyro -- but promises to reveal more "when [it's] ready."

Actually, even I'm not crying too and I support the move. Its great (Business and education wise). I'm just bringing back an old issue when Square left Nintendo for Sony.

then in the future we expect to see a linearlized Infamous split in over 3 DVD9s for the 360. damn the M$, time to plan bluray for 360, or allow mandatory full game installation all in all, PS3 got advantage in bluray storage, we can enjoy bluray video cutscenes in FF13, while 360 have to watch DIVX quality
