both can go nearly all lenses, have nearly similar function and performance thumbup.gif
if you like DSLR , big , bulky, heavy, firm grip, etc. get a550
if you prefer compact, get NEX5.
if you're undecided, get both brows.gif

Mikeshashimi & Signither : haha

for NEX5 i think better if wait abit longer wait for other people test drive first, not to say they didnt review the NEX5 good enough. but who knows.. probably the coming one NEX7 has something better, or NEX has upgrade firmware. for me i dont like buy things that is first batch, enuff experience with first batch Gen2 1.3 (so many problem sweat.gif ). Like a550, everyone here recommends it and with price rm2599 and 3 years warranty seriously good catch thumbup.gif

but the 3 years warranty is too long, dont they have marketing scheme that usually goods shouldnt last too long? to get people to buy new items. heard this from friend taking marketing and business sweat.gif . nowadays people selling items that dont last long, not like last time. like Minolta super great quality camera/lenses, until now still superb thumbup.gif

ginolo : i looked at the images after noise reduction, dont like it much sad.gif . Yes, it has reduced the noise. But lose the details, the sharpness of the image, the color and contrast .

hmm i wonder if that is also the reason D90 price go down hmm.gif

depends how are your shooting style, more to sharpness and fast focuss get the G SSM
need fast aperture or low light get Tammy

Mikeshashimi : i have never tried 18250, but 16-105 IQ is abit less than baby Zeiss. quite sharp even at wide open. Bokeh not that very nice thou at f/5.6 at 105mm sad.gif .

Mikeshashimi : both are sharp, both different range but i love the bokeh on sal55200 better.

here's how sharp sal16105 at wide open. btw only now i notice i hardly use wide open aperture at 16mm anymore

haha u kena find your suitable style first then decide, whether u love wide landscape or potraiture or candid/snipe or macro or others. if u love all just get the all in one sal18250 and add on raynox for ur 55200 for macro. wink.gif
