Sigma 30mm 1.4 indeed is very good lens

+ 30mm on apc is just like 50mm on FF or even wider
+ it is acceptable sharp even at 1.4
+ the build n design
+ the colour - not too warm as other sigma

- not internal focusing
- 40mm MFD

u can actually reverse the centre column to make the camera go lower.

Uncle Chin said he sold over 20units already... but I din see anyone own it in lowyat thread. Im still trying to get use to the UWA.. but I test.. if focus properly.. the F2.8 is sharp... Can use well for shooting Potrait n Food at night with extreme perspective.. which is nice.   The lens is rm 2450 no discount..uncle chin price pretty standard...some more charging extra 2% for Creditcard..

hi my cousin is contemplating to get the tamron sp90 or the beercan, what do u all recommend?? well he was aiming to start portrait photography and having the budget to choose the above only..

i told him the sp90 is abit too sharp for portrait, but then not too sure if got ppl really use sp90 for portrait or not...

tried once..great lens if aperture isnt that impt to u....

woo i think my cousin got the 50mm already ,cos he now got budget enough for sp90 or beercan -both second hand...i told him beercan better cos then can cover his zoom range also not necessary solely for portrait ma...

for me i am planning to get 85mm once got money hehee

its good to have 2.8...but not everyone need it..

from reading.. G is the best among normal sony, sigma and tamron..
but the price - pengsan.. 

even the used one reaching 2k..
i would love to try tamron.. atleast fit my budget..
