TrackID by Sony Ericsson is my favourite applications in my SE phones, i use it to recognize any song over the radio, i just simply record a sample and send it to server, it will return a complete details such as Song Title, Singer, Album, etc..

but when i jump into android world, i couldn't find any apps to replace my favourite TrackID. anyone know which apps do the same thing?

You can try Shazam. work like a charm for me.

based on my check, Shazam have 8 milions song record in their database

compare to TrackID, only have 2.5 milions song record in their database (not sure if they didn't update the info for a long time)

so i hope shazam can recognize more song (includes our local malaysia song).
