Hi,

Q1: rooting comes with risks..?

Q2: Now Desire is running on 2.1 Eclair. When Froyo is out, how to do the upgrade? Is it cumbersome like need to format harddisk 2 remove ols OS & then install new OS?

Noobie here blush.gif icon_question.gif notworthy.gif

1) when you root, by definition you voided your warranty.

but if the defect is due to hardware (say defective parts like buttons)... rooting will void the warranty too?

thanx

that is hardware...
hardware = hardware
rooting is related to software...
so rooting void warranty

please correct me if i'm wrong...

i totally understand with wat u said... rooting is related to software... it's kinda like gaining access 2 msconfig & regedit in windows (for example), rite?

and hardware is hardware... button is button.

... both r totally unrelated...

So, if the button on my HTC is faulty (due to manufacturing defects), SiS will still say the warranty of the whole device is void although we only do rooting?

It's like voiding the whole laptop's warranty by just formatting the hard drive?
