QUOTE(Samurai @ May 28 2010, 09:55 PM) I would recommend you stay at Flora Bay Resort Perhentian Besar ,since they have available rooms during that period. But I`m strongly recommend you stay at Abdul Chalet but their rooms are fully booked June and July 2010. Dive rates around RM60 to RM80 per dive, but depends how many dive you want. i check flora bay, no rooms edi also. maybe will postpone my perhentian trip to september. |

QUOTE(keanhwa_mich @ Jun 21 2010, 12:32 PM) Just came back from perhentian.... omg the chalet in symphony really sucks .... so dirty and smelly the place is seriously run down ... i manage to get a fan room with attached bathroom, the bathroom is so so dirty and the pillow case is black in color and the smell ..the ceiling of the room looks as if it is going to fall down anytime...end up we went around to look for another chalet... we found 1 with a/c and attached bathroom electric 24/7.. and the place super clean... and its only rm70 for 2 nights.... having symphony around really spoil the image of the island.... whats the other chalet name? |

QUOTE(sj0217 @ Mar 8 2014, 09:00 AM) Anyone know how much now for the land transfer from airport to Kuala besut? Yea, it's around that price. I've check with a few travel agents already. Unless you guys take a taxi to jetty. Beucase we have been quoted by resort that two ways charge RM70 per person, we are 4 people... Feel like this is quite exp or this is reasonable price?? KB airport to jetty around 1 hour or so if not mistaken. |

QUOTE(sj0217 @ Mar 8 2014, 11:25 AM) ya around 1 hr something like this... No idea. I won't be heading into Perhentian until end of this month. So maybe someone can give you the most recent rates. is this advisable to take by taxi in instead of deal with resort? Thinking to take Taxi actually, just that what is the current price for the Taxi?? If not mistaken, if you take taxi, it'll be cheaper than the shuttle. |

QUOTE(zstan @ Mar 14 2014, 01:44 PM) Hey peeps I've read all 28 pages so far. Not much mentions about budget and food. Any tips for seafood? Gonna go perhentian kecil in July. For Perhentian, budget for food around RM50 per day should be good enough. Seafood then I'm not sure. The food there not much choices wan - burger, mee goreng, fried rice, etc. Typical expensive Malaysian island food. Seafood go Sabah better. |

QUOTE(scpt @ Mar 25 2014, 05:52 PM) I wonder if it will be cheaper if I walk out a little bit from the airport and find one Err. Get a few boat contacts/travel agents and deal with them directly. Otherwise, the airport has a lot of ppl offering to bring you to and fro Perhentian island. Everyone has their own contacts i've been doing some research on the boats to & from the island. There are boats which departs hourly to the island, correct? And returning from the island is it true that it's fixed at 8am, 12pm & 4pm? On another note, I just remembered that East coast weekends are different from here Yea, pretty much depart every other hour. Many boats into the island. Coming out I'm not sure, but there are some coming out at 10am also. Basically if the 3 times that you stated. QUOTE(teongpeng @ Mar 25 2014, 08:10 PM) Yup, Abdul Chalets rooms were much nicer than expected. Toilet also was hugeeee. QUOTE(jobok @ Mar 25 2014, 08:12 PM) my package agent ...offer me the taxi at RM 80.... Yea, they charge by car. The van that we took was at i still undecided....whether to book early.....or just wait for the day..... is it a proper taxi or kereta sapu? they charge by car right.....not per person? Edit: Wrong price. This post has been edited by munkeyflo: Mar 25 2014, 11:53 PM |

QUOTE(jobok @ Mar 25 2014, 09:30 PM) for how many people in the van? If 3 people then just take taxi good enough. my trip...just for three person only.. how was the traffic from jetty to airport? is it using highway....or normal road? Normal coastal road from jetty to airport. Traffic not much but coastal road lor, no highway. QUOTE(zstan @ Mar 25 2014, 10:13 PM) Will msg you when I get it. |

Better to be early than late. We took 12 noon boat out, our flight supposedly 6pm. AA delayed 4 hours until 10pm -.- |

QUOTE(scpt @ Mar 26 2014, 12:14 AM) wah kesian long wait Hahah. You can do that la. But still better be earlier than sorry. We lepak at Kuala Besut until around 3-4pm only left for airport.that's what I'm trying to avoid, less waiting time and maximize my time on the island My flight time is the same as yours, I can take the 4pm boat out if I'm feeling crazy, reach the airport ngam ngam |

QUOTE(jobok @ Mar 26 2014, 09:12 PM) uhuhu....regarding mh370...n malindo air.... my father kind of disagree....for me to travel back by flight... i unable to travel back by bus...due to the travel time not suitable... only two trip to shah alam....at 9.00 am n 9.00 pm.... QUOTE(jobok @ Mar 26 2014, 09:12 PM) i already buy the ticket....... Doubt you can get a refund if it's promo ticket. is it i can get refund???? promo ticket.... i dun want to burn it....... For AA, I know you can claim back airport tax but there will be a service fee charge and it takes time. In the end might not be worth it also. I'd choose flight over buses anytime. Buses quite scary at night. |

QUOTE(ukiya @ Mar 27 2014, 10:25 AM) from what i heard, AA does not refund any airport tax/fees that is applied to domestic destination. Ohh! That's news to me. Thanks for correcting me. I've only had experience with AA refunding my airport tax with international destinations. Took about 3 months for them to credit back the amount in my case. International destination yes! but it probably take about 2 weeks for all the process and procedure. |

QUOTE(FightFire @ Jun 23 2014, 12:26 PM) urm happening night life? haha Then go for Perhentian Kecil, Long Beach. There are a few beaches around, some quieter, some more night life. I notice there is perhentian kecil and besar? whats the different? any recommendation on which hotel? The happening night life is on Long Beach Perhentian Kecil. Look for hotels along there. I don't know any as I prefer quiet beach |

QUOTE(mjy1984 @ May 5 2015, 10:51 PM) Hi people. So happen I've stayed at both of those before. If you like some partying, then go for Sharila cause you can walk over to long beach. Otherwise, the rooms at Abdul's is much better and more spacious and cleaner. I'm planning to visit Perhentian later this year with my girl. I'm looking for a affordable place with good sunset view actually. And I ended up with Shari-la and Abdul's Chalet. They're both affordable. So, between those 2, which one has better view? Or any other recommended places? By the way, she's not a fan of snorkeling. We just want to chill over there. Thanks a lot! QUOTE(CommonPeople @ May 6 2015, 11:48 AM) Hi guys , No la. Totally safe. Very rarely this sort of thing happen on the islands on the east coast.Just wondering is it safe for a couple to visit Pulau Perhentian ? I heard stories if we travel in couple or small group ( more girls) , the beach boys will kacau the girls or start a fight.. Im planning to go there with my wife this June... Anyone can confirm this ? thank you |
