Hi every1,I'm having this allergy problem. It is very itchy and my skin will start to become reddish and grow lump, some similar to mosquito bite, some will be much bigger(picture will be included).
The itchiness is very annoying, but what is more annoying is that I dun knw what I'm allergic to.

I'm having this problem since 3 years ago, that time it will happen EVERY night and last for several months until it slow down and happen once a year(not exactly but more than 6 months) till now.

My other family members dun hav this same issue, just my sister is allergic to crustaceans while I'm not.

We suspect this may cause by heat,dust/dirt or food but we dun hav solid evidence against it.I suspect it is from heat, but this is not the 1st time I'm expose to heat and it doesnt happen every time when I'm exposed to heat.

About dust/dirt,I often go out so it may be the cause, but 3 years back when I'm living with my uncle,I seldom go out and usually just go to school and back from school and not going out after that. And it just happened at NIGHT,like I'm allergic to night laugh.gif

Until just now I went out to buy some things and it happened in the afternoon.

You may be asking why I didnt go for a checkup, the reason is most of the time it happens at night,so most clinics are close. And if I go in the morning without proof of what happened, the doctor might just prescribe some antibiotics/whatever to me.But 2day I manage to snap some pics and I will go to the doctor asap smile.gif

About food source,I didnt consume anything different from other days, for 2day I ate 1 Whopper jr. from BK and 1 Vanilla coke(din hav my breakfast as I woke up quite late tongue.gif ).The 2 things that I consumed nvr cause any allergy to me b4,but they are still under suspect.

Anyway here are the pics that I manage to snap under extreme itchiness, sry for the blur pic

Any idea?
Usually it last for 2-5 hrs and happen on almost the whole body
BTW I've tried Calamine lotion 3 yrs back, but dun hav any effect sad.gif

Nothing can compare to a a proper real-life diagnostic from a doctor.

But let's see what we can do here,
it will take some time and I am going out for dinner.

First of all, you must understand what is allergy.
Allergens may be something you came in contact with.
Eat, touch, inhale etc
Not all things are allergens, thank goodness.

some questions:
1) list down what you eat within the duration of 2 days before the allergic reaction began especially oyster sauce.
2) list down any recent medicine you took, 7 days prior to the attack.
3) All new chemicals, ie shampoo, soap, detergent, floor cleaner, especially fabric softerner.
4) Contact dermatitis: things you touch that may cause the reaction.

Will see the list before commenting further.

1)No oyster sauce in these few days,or can I say weeks, unless it is added without my knowledge but I had oyster sauce b4,nth happen.I cant recall well, but most of the things I ate is usual meal that I have.Morning I usually skip bcos wake up late, even when going to class I will have a carton of milk 1st,lunch will have mix rice(tofu+vege+some meat),just yesterday I ate 2 sardine buns which may be the cause, but not for 3 years ago.

2)None.The last time I take medication I think is last year

3)Shampoo and detergent is the same start from this year.

4)Hmm...I travel by public transport(lrt),working place the thing I touch the most is the mouse and headphone, but I have been contacting with them for a week already and I start working this year, not 3 years ago.

3 yrs ago when it is night time I will get it,no matter what I do

Cant think of any as well.Everything I'm using is the usual stuff that I keep contacting every day.It may be virus/bacteria but if so shouldnt I get it everyday?

I notice when it is about to start,my palm will start itchy 1st,then there goes the nightmare.

Don't worry, allergy in your case is not life-threatening.
If you have a family history of allergy conditions,
what you can usually tolerate can suddenly become the allergen.

Start by ruling out the below one by one.

1) Most likely if your palm starts itching first
Contact dermatitis:
You will notice very small nodules on your palm, not raised like a mosquito bite.
Contains only water and is EXTREMELY itchy.
Scratching will not help, it will only puncture the skin. Heals without scars.
Likely cause:
Allergy to nickel, aluminium, ie coins, keys, metal shavings, rusts
even a single metal button on your jeans in contact with your belly can trigger it.

if not the above, then

2) If you get it every night mostly likely
Fabric softener ie your bedsheet
deodorant, facial wash or anything you use just before you got to bed.
(These contains metal ingredients too like aluminium etc)
Floor cleaner, handwash
Read the ingredients.

dust, mould in your aircond or bathrom. (but these will cause running nose)

if not, then

3) Something you eat:
Purposely eat some vege fried with lots of oyster sauce.

then if nothing happens within 48 hours
Eat some nasi lemak with chili sambal belacan

if nothing happens within 48 hours
Eat some rojak with prawn head paste

will comment further when the above is ruled out one by one.
Or better still, go see a doctor and ask him to recommend you a Allergist
Doctors usually only treat the symptoms.

Short term relief, available at any pharmacy:
Loratadine 4mg tablets (antihistamine)
Piriton 2mg tablets (relieves itchiness)
Elosone ointment for rahes (mild cortisone, steroid)
Take/apply as when necessary, symptomatically.

Goodluck.

1 thing you should know is that allergy depends on the state of immune system....
depending on the state of immune system, you may have or not have allergy to something...
so sometimes it is not wise to dismiss things which might be an allergen to you just be saying " i've use it before and it does not affect me"

Hi HyourinMaru, i have the same problem like you do too. It has been suffering me for years and i has been avoiding those 'poisonous' food like crabs, sotong, prawns, peanuts (just started recently) etc but it doesn't seems to be better. Nevertheless, i have met up with a few skin specialist and their advice was simply the same: either going for pap test which may cost me plenty of dollars or just be hardworking enough to note down my day to day diet and activities to scope down the possible root cause for my allergy. Really bored and tiring....

Recently i did try to apply Propolis on to my affected area. It seems workable but anw, again it temporary solves my itchiness and not permanently cure myself from the allergy. I also wish to know the way to get rid of this...SOS....

I am having the same issue, is been a year right now
I didn't see any dermatologist, but normal clinic doctor saying is some allergic issue.
I am been taking Bilastine 20mg tablet, once per day. Best if take any empty stomach for 2 hours before meal.
It keeps my itchiness under control.
