QUOTE(prasys @ Jun 8 2010, 01:25 PM) You're getting it for free and then you complain they giving you 3cell battery. Heh Hehehe... actually im not complaining lar, i just wants to know how many cells battery hp provided. There is another miniPCIe slot which takes 3G mini-3G PCIe module and there is a SIM slot , so basically you gotta buy those internal miniPCIe 3G card. To the person who posted his ADSL stats , check my other thread and read whats the difference between FAST and INTERLEAVE path. btw the netbook is not free, its counted in your rm38, kinda of like an monthly installment, the real free thing is actually the broadband of 384kbps(noted the asterisk from the streamyx website and uni pack catalog), the rest you need to top up rm15 for each speed and they did not indicate that the netbook is free, but they do mentioned free broadband for 2 years only, but for Pakej Jalur Lebar Dengan Netbook, this is clearly stated that the netbook is free Yah i think i will get the miniPCI so i can online anywhere anytime. Out of my curiousity does this miniPCI is a standard type across any type of netbook and laptop, so that i can use this same miniPCI for several of my other laptops |

As for the first question , its part of the package or deal. Basically you've been told that RM 38 is with free broadband. So I am not sure how this adds up together but there must be a way on that.btw the netbook is not free, its counted in your rm38, kinda of like an monthly installment, the real free thing is actually the broadband of 384kbps(noted the asterisk from the streamyx website and uni pack catalog), the rest you need to top up rm15 for each speed and they did not indicate that the netbook is free, but they do mentioned free broadband for 2 years only, but for Pakej Jalur Lebar Dengan Netbook, this is clearly stated that the netbook is free Yah i think i will get the miniPCI so i can online anywhere anytime. You got to open up the laptop and swap them. Some laptops do have 1 miniPCIe slots , some with 2. hp mini has 2 , one is for wifi and another one is a blank mini PCie slot. That means you can use the empty slot for broadcom video accelerator (which allows you to do 1080p movie decoding) , 3g card or even gps miniPCIe card if you wish. |

So I am not sure how this adds up together but there must be a way on that. I think its like RM38 X 24 month contract = RM912, after two years u (maybe) will still paying the same amount, so this same amount is actually your broadband monthly bill for the 3rd years, netbook cost has already been cover from the past two years, that is why they mention free broadband for 2 years only, the subsequent 3rd years is no longer free broadband anymore because you are actually starts paying for the broadband bill. You'll have to open up your laptop. miniPCIe are much like umm installing PCI/PCIe cards to your desktop. QUOTE(evolution120 @ Jun 8 2010, 03:22 PM) Its okay , but read few posts back on what happens if speed is capped to higher speed http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/linestats.htm You can read about there , if the SNR Margin is quite slim it does not give any room for bad weather condition or if something goes wrong. The review , just go to youtube and see it for yourself It uses Broadcom BCM43xx as its wireless chipset. This post has been edited by prasys: Jun 8 2010, 03:44 PM |

Hi, I would like to enquire something. I am in situation 2.
Currently, I am renting a room and the streamyx bill under my name. The phone line belongs to the landlord. What is the best advice if I were to take up this package. Secondly, what happen if I moved to new house let's say end of this year. Can this package be transferable to my new home at the same time maintaining my landlord's fixed line number? Thanks. |

After they've installed the new streamyx, cut off your old streamyx. Later if you want to move out, you have to go to TM Point and pay RM50 for relocation.Currently, I am renting a room and the streamyx bill under my name. The phone line belongs to the landlord.
