i am really confused about the application through usm and upu...is it true that once we are offered a place in usm,our application through upu will totally be ignored and removed from the long list? and what if there's a situation where the person decided to reject the usm offer...what happen to his/her name in upu list? will he/she still have a chance to get her first choice in upu?

im a bit worried abt this because..usm application result will only come out on 2nd of june..if im not mistaken..but pretty sure it's early june..and upu result will be out on the 3rd week of june..there're not too much time between the two results..so if the person rejects the offer from usm..does this mean that her/his name will be at the bottom of the list?

wondering of the same thing too. please enlighten us, anyone?

through my exp....i apply for both usm and upu and end up both sides oso tak jadi...damn..

see what i can help..
USM .. when the result comes out.. and you decide to join their programme then ur name will automatically be excluded from upu list ..
therefore.. u still have a choice.. when you reject their offer.. then you can wait for UPU result instead.. that simple

em..there's a person told me that when u get the offer from usm and u reject it...u have a very low chance of getting ur first choice..is it true? em..because they said.ur name will be at the bottom of the list and is going to be processed later than others ..is this true?

this is the proble faced by usm... seperate from upu, but once if student are not shortlisted, then raise another issue..problem..

owh my god..what happen..
i apply usm...product design...

because of the separation..there're so many confusions now among applicants.. =/

actually i oso dono izzit because of the usm fault or bad luck...but there are about roughly 2 students i know bah...

don worry la...most probably is that upu will also select All the candidates but after that usm also select their condidates but after usm selected suceed's candidates will be remove from upu so that they will nt have 2 offer...

this is what i think la...hahahaha...don worry...

I believe the announcement for entry to usm has been made by now. Unfortunately, I didn't get a place in usm. Does this mean I still stand a chance to secure a place in another ipta through upu? I'm afraid I stand no chance at all for a place in any ipta.

is it worth it to wait for UPU?
or should i just go for IPTS?

it's better to understand how UPU works first.

i. when u submit ur application, UPU will process it and sort it out.
ii. then UPU will forward ur application to ALL ur chosen university, from 1st to 8th.
iii. each university will review ur application.
iv. each university will decide to offer u or not, and then inform UPU.
v. UPU then collects all results from ur 8 choices.
vi. UPU sends u the highest offer based on ur 8 choices.

for example. if #1 and #2 rejects, but #3 #4 #5 accepts, they will offer #3 to u. #4 and #5 is ignored.

in this case, USM and UPU selection process will run concurrently. however, USM will have the priority to offer places to students first. u might have an offer from #1 of UPU, but u wont get that offer until USM offer is resolved. if u didnt get the offer from USM or rejected the offer, u will be offered the UPU choice. if u accept USM's offer, then the UPU choice will be ignored.

the only problem here is, how do we know if UPU even HAVE an offer for u, before u reject USM? this one i dunno how to answer .

That is what's bugging me now. Even if I didn't get any place in usm, how do i know that upu will still reconsider my application.
