The story of the game is set in the distant mountain village of Okukozome-chō. Haruka Kazugano and his twin sister Sora have fond childhood memories of going to the village to visit their grandfather during their summer vacations. However, after losing their parents in an accident, the two must move in with their grandfather.
The twins get reacquainted with their old childhood friend Nao Yorihime, their new classmate Ryōhei Nakazato, the miko (shrine maiden) Akira Amatsume, and Akira's friend Kazuha Migawa. All seems peaceful and familiar. However, beneath the surface is a secret promise that the twins made with each other long ago, the whereabouts of an important lost item, and the real reason they chose to come back here.
Tragically orphaned by an automobile accident, the Kasugano twins travel to their grandparent’s countryside residence via railcar, hoping to reconstruct the shards of a shattered life. Future uncertain, Haruka Kasugano clings to memories of the past, hoping to find the strength he needs to safeguard his ailing sister. With a destiny irrevocably tied to that of another, Sora Kasugano clings to moments of the present, drawing comfort and security from the company of her brother. I didn't know anything about the series before it was aired. I thought it would be a romance drama series like Clannad. And after 1st episode, I was in shock.

Another slow type of anime like "Honey and Clover" which had some serious plot in it. A bit hooked from watching this show as I now want to know what happen to the sister and see how it change her from her negative side to the opening and closing video side.
On another note, the anime omake is redundant as it do not do justice to this type of slow and serious show.
uhh..i hope there not too many emo story..its bad for my heart.. ill skip this kind of anime (after i watch all clannad episode)..more prefer Shinryaku! Ika Musume!!!! hahaha...very cute gurl..that rite.. im prefer kawaii and moe type... this season too many ero anime..hard to choose..
I admit it's a change from having him finding each girl and slowly getting them interested in him like ToLoveRu but this set up just begs for tons and tons of flashbacks.

It's a low priority for the translators because the previous group received a C&D. But they will at least polish up Kazuha's route and translate Sora's route.
I've read there's a full translation patch in simplified Chinese.
i think this anime kinda weird. 1st episode was nice. the rest shits. i tot they focus more on the incest stuff, but at the end, his sis was only a backup character. i watch Princess lover too. man, u guys shud jaz watch Princess Lover OVA instead of this slowpace shits.

... It has been stated that the arcs are gonna go from Kazuha, Akira, Nao, and then Sora. Or not stated yet? If not then please take note from now on...

Well, this anime got some logic to support twincest tendency, as Sora said, they are special, but in term of being separated quite some time since childhood.
