found this on other forum:

This from another forum may temper some peoples headlong rush into this Pre-Release version:

This is an OTA to DEMO phones! This was sniffed out and the URL was given. Your IME is not ready to receive this update and neither is the market and apps, you are basicially running a BETA version of 2.2 that is intended to get the Media guys their update to get flash and blog about the new features.

Your update would have come OTA probably in a week or so. Because you are not supposed to have it yet, your paid apps aren't available and some features will not work properly.
The SDK came out all of 2 days ago, devs have not been able to update their software to comply, therefore you will not see market items you are not compatible with.

The original phone that got this-
denied the update booted under and 'hacked' up the sending url. this was then leaked to XDA which then put it here. hacked leak.

quite make sense hmm.gif

Oh really? How to identify that? As im running it with nothing that i know of unavailable. I did nont WIPE hence all apps & data remain intact. And it's kinda faster over the web and it loads flash like charm after i install the flash 10.1 for android beta from the market.

im using froyo on my N1 now, works smoothly except for my Handcent now become useless(dev  shud upodate their apps for froyo). overall, it is faster n vr smooth. the most significant changes dat i could feel is its battery life, really become more efficient and lasts longer. before this N1 battery really sux a lot  rclxms.gif

How come i felt my froyo drain faster? Damm, i ensure i kill most app all the time. :-(

Select the album you want to see with two finger touch on the screen and open your finger. You can see the preview effect.

Oh, yea.. i love that feature! It makes my iPhone friends gone crazy. lmao

so much better than 2.1

but i have been accustomed to cyanogen that it's kinda awkward to see the white background in the message.

is thr any app that will allow me to change the background color and the font size? i don't mean those flashy style text app...

i just wanna change the background color to black and smaller font size just like cyanogen.
*
Exactly, suddenly felt so white and.. unfamiliar. Btw, if you found any, do let me know :-)

I guess most of our sympathy should be given to X10 users. Not even any news for Froyo! laugh.gif

At least, for HTC users, there's still hope.
*
lmao. damm the x10. It looks so beautify but i tried it.. itz sluggish. And it's indifferent to the world of android. Itz like they are selling their layer of UI only. Android to them itz jz a platform to built the UI.

I'm using the Legend now but seriously considering the Nexus One just so I could get any firmware update first... and fast. The only thing holding me back was the price and local warranty of the N1.
*
I was juggling with Legend & N1 before i bought my N1, i can proudly say now.. no regret. 2.2 is totally lovely!

QUOTE(davidmak @ May 24 2010, 04:01 PM)
SE must be cursing right now. All their hardwork to update the UI for 2.1 and there goes 2.2. All wasted in what... mere months?

I think SE has a different mindset with respect to updates. Its as if SE is seeing the X10 as a feature phone and it doesn't want its customers to bother about what lying underneath as long as the features advertised is there. That goes well with regular consumers, but not geeks like us hehehehe... If you bought or understand SE's featurephone products, you will know what I'm talking.
*
+10 they just don't care what is happening to the mobile phone. To them integration to FB seems to be everything -.-"

QUOTE(dreamwar @ May 24 2010, 09:57 PM)
My n1 always has more than 200mb ram available after installed froyo.. I can see no reason for me to root now lol ...
*
My reason for rooting earlier was the Wireless Tether & USB Tethering. Guess no point to it now. But i already rooted earlier, so i jz leave it that way and go with pre-rooted froyo.

Anybody on Nexus One who upgraded to 2.2 has issues with their earphones control? I can't seem to use the Play/Pause, Forward and Back control button with the stock Nexus earphone
*
Erm, can't at all? I know when u unplug the earphone it will start playing music by itself. lmao. The rest is still fine. The only problem is the earphone doesn't seems to control the phone function, you can't hangphone with your earphone! iPhone has one of the most lovely implementation of earphone. love the simple n small control on the earphone
