means htc hero can't run on 2.2? coz hero was released around sept'09 if i'm not mistaken....

SE must be cursing right now. All their hardwork to update the UI for 2.1 and there goes 2.2. All wasted in what... mere months?

I think SE has a different mindset with respect to updates. Its as if SE is seeing the X10 as a feature phone and it doesn't want its customers to bother about what lying underneath as long as the features advertised is there. That goes well with regular consumers, but not geeks like us
