Hi SRC president,

I'm an ex student, but I have great curiosity on why the fixed amount thingy is being implemented. The rest is understandable.

Yeap. Good to force students to graduate ASAP. I lingered for too long in MMU myself tongue.gif.

Does it have any exclusion for people who need to take study break? (e.g maternity leave, sick leave, accidents, going to hajj, psychiatric problem etc)

Btw I personally think the 'going back to hometown, so need to pay extra in rent' excuse is pretty lame.

I think the students are confused. They see SRC as prefects (siding with teachers; in this case, university) instead of siding with them.

It happened 10 years ago, it's still happening. Basically they're toothless because students dont care about them and since they dont really represent the majority of students, administrations dont care about them either. It's a vicious cycle.

I think it's common in private university. They just wanna get in, get a degree and get out.

if their are toothless and dont represent the majority of students, is there a need of them the first place ? hmm.gif

It's a catch-22 situation. If there's no unity among students through SRC then MMU is free to implement whatever they want - I'm sure you dont want that to happen.

this doesnt hold true in mmu where SRC is a proxy. so with or without SRC, no difference actually. maybe students just need their help in society and club matters  tongue.gif students dont see SRC as prefects either. students are only putting expectations because SRC has been gungho about this whole thing and rallied the students, but unfortunately, the SRC has no objective nor stand and use students for own benefits. in other words, they are manipulating the students.

Probably MMU need to reduce the number of subjects and increase credit hours instead.

I was confuse with fixed payment, if fix payment based on course structure offer for particular year it okay for me, but if fix payment based on full cost of course degree we take it is not okay for me . (meaning rm50,000/4years =12500 per year makes me sick, because there is a semester for particular training, i hope that it is not based on full cost )

'waste time'? dont you guys know how to manage your own time - e.g do research on things that interests you, practice on programming skills, get to know your lecturers better so you know who to pick to supervise your fyp?

it's not a freaking holiday.

Well, for local students, if they go back hometown, sure they won't do any research or practice anything, right?  tongue.gif
I got no PC at hometown, sure i will sleep whole day.  rclxub.gif
But 3 months rental still need to pay.  cry.gif

That's an immature choice. Why the need to go back hometown and sleep whole day and pay unneeded rent for 3 months?

Why not be an adult and do what you're supposed to do? If other people choose to waste their money let them be - dont waste yours.
