QUOTE(jurgita @ Oct 4 2010, 07:55 PM) how to know whether a (engineering) subject will be available or not in semester T3? (february 2011) because its a short semester im afraid it will affect my progress If you are in FET, try to search old buletins posted by the AD showing the whole subject offered in the year. another way is refer to the fet website, it is quite detailed. another way is refer to the faculty AD herself, or your AA. |

QUOTE(sliqueliques @ Oct 10 2010, 04:07 AM) I got my diploma from uitm. When the interview? Can it be done on registration day or before starting the class? hi, usually the faculties will inform the students about the period to meet the credit transfer committee member. It would be better to take proactive approach to inquire your faculty who are the committe members and you can set appointment with them. The earlier the better. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Just quit MMU, simple story. The justifications provided merely shows how pampered and immature the students are. Financial issues aside, this is university level learning and students cant expect everything to be a bed of roses. Going back to hometown for research? you gotta be kidding..might as well, register for distance education programme and study at home. QUOTE(vapeace @ Oct 27 2010, 06:52 PM) as far i know, src have been under criticism over the years by many student for not representing the student of MMU. just so you know, I have always labelled SRCs as a proxy.I partially agreed to this, because what i see are more action by src but lack of result, one good example, is the implementation of IT fee, despite been reduced from original amount, many students still dislike the idea of IT fee being implemented. There many reasons why, but i will not elaborate here as i assume most us know I find it rather ironic when src campaign the agenda is to abolish IT Fee, not reduce although i quite pleased since the amount is reduced. What i trying to say is SRC must stick to their original goal and not compensate it for other reasons. Now to the current agenda.. i am studying MMU melaka, although i heard about the campaign to against the new policies but most of friend never even heard about it. In fact, i only know about the campaign while entering MMU thread. Other than a simply flier sticked on the lift, posting at online application and creating of facebook protesting, i dont see much else about the so call campaign ! Where are the mass gathering to protest ? Where are more banner and petition ? Btw where do i sign the petition at melaka ? i think i not informed or know about it existence ! although i am a lone ranger now, i am still a student and i would like src to take more effort into this agenda and produce some good result for us to see. not some announcement we are sorry we unable to abolish the policies but we manage to reduce it again ! |

ok gavin, your tone has changed. do you agree that most students do not understand because the SRC has failed to disseminate the correct information to the students? From what i gathered since day 1, SRC has been gung ho about the petition and going all over the place like a headless chicken with slogans, etc..which at the end of the day, created many MISINFORMED disgruntled students..so yeah, this is what you SRC have achieved. So now, the stance of SRC has change and you are blaming students? please have more responsibility
p/s i am not discussing anything on the policy, just the way SRC handled this matter. |

QUOTE(Syd G @ Nov 1 2010, 11:44 AM) Btw I personally think the 'going back to hometown, so need to pay extra in rent' excuse is pretty lame. exactly Syd G, like I said, if the students think that by doing research, they can do it at home and save rental fees, then better do long distance studies..but that is, unfortunately, one the of issue raised by SRC and rallied all the students. This post has been edited by Human Nature: Nov 1 2010, 11:49 AM |

QUOTE(gavinfernando @ Nov 1 2010, 01:32 PM) I cannot say I have to agree or disagree as those policies does not give impact to me personally. OMG, cannot say agree or disagree, you should just save the trouble and resign. I do agree with students questioning about the IT fees and I already ring this matter up to Prof.Zaharin. I ask for his justification based on the improvement in terms of IT facilities. Internet connection was really bad especially last semester. I told him, is this a "Multimedia" university. He was unable to answer as well. Then, I told him to at least do something before students do something. So powerful? Can instruct the president? The discussion set on Friday was for the management to show and present their justification. There are some problems identified in those implementation as well. And since most students are not affected (only June 2010) students, petition that students signed, only some can be used. In other words, the petition is a junk. that is what happen when you do things without proper direction nor record. Students barely know about the implementation until SRC highlight this. If we want, we can sit back and do nothing. Why should we waste resources in the campaign. So now SRC is the hero? or is that a thinly veiled threat? All SRC is willing to resign on that day if our objective was not being achieved. Just do it. |
