I have a house phone line and a Streamyx 512K internet line, bought the internet package when the time a house phone was needed to connect to the internet. I'm not at home all the time so I'm planning to terminate both accounts and buy a wireless broadband package. Did some quick research and seems like Maxis prepaid broadband is the way to go. You only top-up when you want to use, just like a Hotlink prepaid phone.

What I'm confused is if I'm out of data and I want to top up, for example 7 days validity for 2GB of data at RM25. If I only did use for 3 days or less than 2GB, will the balance of data be forwarded to the next usage when it expires? hmm.gif

You are wrong because YES 4g allows their postpaid broadband users to carry forward the used data to the next month.

I just called Hotlink Customer Service to enquire about the iPad Prepaid Data Plan and I'm quite confused now.

According to Hotlink CS, once i reload RM10, the sim will have the validity of 10 days. After that within 90 days i have to top up again to keep the sim card active.

My question is, if I reload RM10 and I didn't purchase any data pass. So does it means after 10 days i can't use that RM10 credit in my sim to purchase any data pass? If i want to purchase a new data pass I have to reload again?

ic, thanks! notworthy.gif

btw is there any way to check when does the sim card expire? can't seem to find the info in the portal (http://www.hotlink.com.my/web/portal/broadband). All I can find is when does my data pass expire.

Hi all,

I visit the maxis website. There are 2 type of plan,
a. Ipad Postpaid Plans (IPP)- http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/ipad/ipad_postpaid.asp

b. Postpaid Broadband (PB)- http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/broadband/tss/index.asp

I notice that
a. IPP got FREEDOM PLAN (6GB) for RM98 per month
b. PB got SUPER PLAN (6GB) for RM90 per month

Whats the different lah? Both using the same HSPA, got 7.2 Mbps speed (best effort), currently im using Maxis 1.5GB lite plan, n want to migrate to those.

Coz the speed is frickin slow now..
