I can only think of Fabs's departure causing Arsene to consider getting Gourcuff, otherwise there's no place to fit yet another playmaker.
Between those two, I choose Fabregas although Gourcuff's skills are already well known.
Milan didn't sell him due to aging players. He left Milan not unlike Merida's case - lack of chances in the first team, leaving for another team for greener pastures. Gourcuff's loan deal at Bordeaux showed that he is a capable player and Les Girondins were first choice is purchasing him after the loan deal finished.
Sun's posting too much crap. First they are saying Joe Cole's coming on Tuesday, now going for Gourcuff?

I'll take Joe Cole but do everything to keep Fabregas. No way Bordeaux's selling their two best players in one summer to us, especially when they didn't get one cent from Chamakh's move.
for Gourcuff.. as long as we pay 21m.. then dun need Bordeaux to agree.. cos the clause on his contract.. like those buy out clause...
dont think Fab will stay with us more than 1 season?.. if not why don we move on and buy someone is same capable, not to regret later if snapped by other team..
just my own opinion, we 'might able' to keep Fab this season... but how about afterthat?.. we still need to find a replacement for him.. next season same thing will happen.. I admit he is pro.. cos he give everything he can to Arsenal.. but..
