last time it was reyes. then flamini and hleb. now cesc..guess we will be on transition period forever..until there are enough group of talented players stay gunners in their soul for years zz
*

The departures of Reyes, Flamini and Hleb didn't threw us into any transitional period. It was actually our collective age of players in the first team that did. They have all come of age though - albeit not turning into a golden generation that Wenger had hoped for. But having said that, it won't be a transitional period if Cesc leaves either. Unless if Wenger chose to do a complete overhaul and start anew with a new set of youngsters that is. But that would be a crazy idea. The correct thing to do would be to find a replacement in the form of an established midfielder and we should be good to go.

lol what do you expect?Wenger had the chance to replace him (or Almunia) with better goalkeepers during the January transfer window but no he keep believing in both of them. But, they disappoint Wenger again and again. How many matches that we drop points because of their incompetence??

I think Nasri is relishing his chance of securing the central midfield position.

He has reiterated again and again that CM is his natural position.

But he is more of a dribbler and what Wenger seeking is a midfield maestro who can dictate the midfield like any top team midfield player does (eg, lampard, deco, xavi, gerrard)

We need a good passer with an eagle eye. Run, collect ball, quick thru/long pass/loop pass or whatever. Nasri cant do that. Hes more suitable as a winger or AM to utilize his dribbling skills. Definitely not suitable to replace the roles and responsibilities of Cesc. If AW decides to play another style then its a different saying.

For me our Capi is the best young CM/passer around. Those on par like Xavi, Lamps is ard 30+.

Its not easy to replace him whereby we build our team around him. Without Cesc, our midfield play is easy disturbed by stronger opponents. To have a good midfield, we need someone with good control. Someone who can handle first touch and release it instantly. Denilson, Diaby and co certainly fail to do so. They could do passes (well, every reasonable player could) but not control.

haih.. too many speculations here and there... again if he wanted badly to head on to Barca... thanks again Cesc.. anyway if Arsenal still wants to keep him but his heart at Barca no point for him to put into Gooners 1st 11.. i don't think so that he will show his full performance thoroughly...

By right a club has the right to keep his palyers right??? Actually what is the basis of letting their players go before their contract ends? WHy do club do that??? They can just keep him, and make him on the bench...But why do clubs tend to sell a players off??? Its not like the player can sue them or what??? hmm.gif

btw, if the 80m price tag is offer by Arsenal is true, and barca accept the deal then Arsenal, then Arsenal cannot reject the deal.
Barca can proceed to talk to Fab for the salary matter, by this stage the deal can only call off if player-club fail to reach to the mutual consent of the salary/personal request

Cannot say so...look at henry...luckily he in Barca, he got his CL and la liga champion after he move to barca...He will empty hand for few season if he still in Arsenal...for Cesc, we understand that Arsenal cannot give wat he want...a good player must win some trophy to gain recognization!!! We can see how many years Cesc suffer for silverware...

All the best Cesc!!! have a good future in Barca!! We miss you and love you!!

And that's why if he wanted to go , just let him be . We need commitment for the team .

80M + the initial transfer fund could get us more star players to strengthen the team , so maybe this is a blessing in disguise . Or perhaps Cesc knew this and he sacrifice for Arsenal LOL .

BTW , Arshavin must be sad that the Captain is the one wanted by Barca , not him . Just a thought , can Arshavin be deployed as CM ?

If Wenger let Fabregas go, means the 5 years "rebuilding" excuse that he use until now will be wasted. He want to build a squad around Fabregas.

If he go, does it mean Wenger will need another 5 years ? Maybe for Ramsey and Wilshere to develop like Fabregas
