Any stipulated release date? This phone is just one of the most tempting.

Anyway, sharing a recent unboxing & review:

Been waiting for a white set for quite a while and spent much of the day reading this topic from scratch. Mmm, can't wait for its arrival (:

Wow. Gratz! How much you bought?

Added on September 18, 2010, 9:04 pm
No, I mean did you messed up the setting of your phone? Because by default setting, it will work perfectly.

I see. How's it camera? 12 MP on mobile phone.  drool.gif

1180 with the Capdase Soft Jacket & sp installed. (:

Just wondering, to install apps not from the Market you have to have another installer available? I'm an iPhone/iPod user looking to trudge and explore new territories (;

Btw I have a white iPhone 3Gs too. And I can safely say the white Wildfire is so much cuter when put beside the iPhone. LOL.

Free flow of Maxis Prepaid Broadband!!! No charge at all!
June 12th, 2010 · 24 Comments0diggsdigg

Want to browse through the internet by using your phone but would not like to pay for it?

Hahahaha, now there is a great trick for you! Just follow the simple steps below:

1) Download and install Opera Mini which suites your phone.

2) Dial *100# and you will see a listed menu.

3) Select no.7 (Internet&Settings) > Select no.3 (prepaid broadband) > Select no.4 (service switching) >Select no.2 (Switch to Prepaid Broadband) > Select no.1 (Proceed)

4) You will receive a confirmation sms.

5) Change your APN from “unet” into “bbnet”. For Nokia phone, this setting will be in “Settings> Connectivity>Destinations>Access Points”.

6) DONE!!! FREE INTERNET!!!!
Is this temporary or can be used forever? And how to change back later? And you're limited to Opera mini only?

Added on September 20, 2010, 5:15 pmBy the way people with Handcent sms, do you all notice that you send an sms twice when you send with the original Messages app? Noticed it on my gf's Legend, not surr if she uses Handcent though.

I really like SMSing from the homescreen. Instead of opening Handcent. Very madam to open an app just to SMS. Besides, we're using smartphones. And I dont see what is so nice about it other than the looks. (:

Exactly. I did do a comparison on Wildfire and iPhone 3Gs. Wildfire gets the satellite signal faster than iPhone 3Gs.  rclxms.gif
*
The iPhone uses cell triangulation IIRC while our Wildfires have dedicated GPS chips. No need any comparison.

Nth happened  sad.gif

If on native messaging app, press and hold anywhere on the main screen, select Widget and choose Messages. If on Handcent do the same thing but choose the Handcent widget (medium). Then on the widget tap the icon at the right of your text and choose New message

If you're free, restart your phone. You end up with about 190-200MB of free RAM/ROM. Still not so sure which is which, actually. LOL tongue.gif

but if u rooted, gain more access of yr phone.
example, the system will only kill those apps which is not running after the phone memory drop to 20MB
with autokiller(rooted required to make change), u can set maybe 40 or 60. or make the system go aggresive, if u got take yr time read those articles, u will understand.
however the phone will kill those apps when memory run low.

thats a lot u got there hmm.gif
i restart liao only got around 100 only..
but i run a lots of stuff biggrin.gif

Added on September 20, 2010, 9:33 pmjust personal opinion.
if really want to kill task, kill those apps which don't run all the time.
like message, people, clock, mail, facebook for HTCsense and a lot more are constantly running all the time, so exclude those.
Maybe u can kill the games, internet, or those apps which open by yourself which won't run in normal circumstances.

My phone's about 2 days old only, haha. Still not much of junk dumped into it yet compared to my 3Gs. But that's an iPhone, cannot compare. Haha.

My suggestion is to leave it unless you're a hardcore user. nod.gif

Yea. HTC not good in making speaker.  blink.gif
*
What are you expecting out of an entry-level smartphone?

QUOTE(whitegoh @ Sep 21 2010, 09:59 PM)
actually i feel the speaker is just moderate, acceptable.
Besides, this is an android smartphone, not a walkman phone XD
*
You said it well. This ain't a Walkman phone or an iPod. Besides even the ipod's speakers sound as mediocre.

hi guys
i just wanna ask

is there any Wildfire user here who frequently listens to mp3 on their phone ?

im looking for an android phone who can also be a reliable mp3 player
in terms of battery life n sound

i like the htc wildfire design
so i would like to ask an opinion from u guys about Wildfire performance when it plays mp3

how long the battery can last if u listen to the mp3 ?
*
I listen in 1-2 hour intervals, I don't notice the battery dropping much.

Anyway, let's all share an app that you like. I'll get the ball rolling:

TweetCaster. One of the best Twitter apps available.

i've tried all the APN setting posted by forumers for my WF but still cant send and receive mms...im using celcom UOX(no data plan)...can anyone help me please..
*
Try referring to the menu? For Maxis it is *100#, not sure what is it for Celcom. It should be loaded into your phone by your SIM card, btw. Mine was preloaded when I installed my SIM.

Also unrelated to that, do you all have any problems with trying to switch from silent to normal and silent again? My phone has a problem, whenever I put it to silent and change back to normal again, I won't hear any sound, as if it is still in silent mode. Entering settings is useless, as when I try to set ringer volume, it crashes in the Settings app, lol. Anybody facing the same problem?

You find one, and re-write the software for the Wildfire. If it's supported, we pay you. Ok?

125 pages is the limit, ineser. Lol.

Btw guys, I tried installing Swype, didn't work, uninstalled, and now I've got a weird keyboard. It makes noises when there shouldn't be, and it gives haptic too, LOL.

Don't know where it popped out of.
