Sorry to hijack this thread for a while...
For die hard fan of Godfather series, here is good news for all of you: QUOTE Taschen has announced a new film-related book that looks pretty awesome: The Godfather Family Album written by Paul Duncan with photos by Steve Schapiro. It's available in a couple different versions - a standard hardcover (SRP $69.99, but just $44 on Amazon) and also a special Deluxe Edition (SRP $1800, but $1400 on Amazon). Taschen sure know how to make great (and EXPENSIVE) film books! I wish I'd had the funds to drop on that amazing Stanley Kubrick book they released last year - Stanley Kubrick's Napoleon: The Greatest Movie Never Made. It sold for $1500 at the time, but it's now out of print and selling for $5000 on Amazon. DAMN. Hey, at least that standard edition of the Godfather book is affordable. Source: http://www.thedigitalbits.com/The Godfather Family Album (Hardcover) $44.09 ![]() ![]() ![]() This title has not yet been released. ================================================================================================ The Godfather Family Album (Special Illustrated Edition) [Deluxe Edition] (Hardcover) $1,390.31 ![]() ![]() ![]() In Stock. do you guy buy those old movie title which is just release for blu-ray version, worth to buy and keep it? ( although you have see the movie before ) like those movie release on 1990's or early of 2000's (which blu-ray or HD-DVD not implement yet ), how they did the provide awesome PQ and AQ ? is it just up scaling or re-encode the movie by H.264 or something?
My bottom line, it is worth to buy and keep it. ( if yes, then will cost me a bomb to buy all of them from amazon >.<" ) |

( if yes, then will cost me a bomb to buy all of them from amazon >.<" ) Other ttls like Ferris Buellers, Heathers, Good Will Hunting are pretty gud - much better than SD but of cos no comparison to new catalog ttls like 2012 la.. QUOTE(low98944 @ May 26 2010, 05:04 PM) That The Godfather Family Album (Special Illustrated Edition) [Deluxe Edition] almost 10KG!!! (21.8 pounds) Quite a heavyweight item eh..QUOTE(baowen @ May 26 2010, 04:51 PM) The normal delivery is good enough.Short Review on Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham QUOTE "This arrived this morning. Watched a couple of scenes, and a few songs: There are bits that look really really good. Like Yeh Ladka Hai Allah, and Bole Chudiyan, out of what I saw. There's also a 'Play All' songs option, which is good. Sound is very very good. Obviously, I only listened to the Hindi one, but really quite impressive. The first scene after the intermission is alright too. Alright. Problems I had. There is reddishness in quite a few places out of what I saw. Especially the scene where Hrithik comes to their house in London, in the screencap. Their skin is so red it looks like their heads are about to explode. Seriously. Also, I didn't think Shava Shava looked all that great. Not much better than the 3-disc release REM did. Also, German subtitles are not optional on songs. Could not get rid of them. They weren't there in the scenes, but they are forced on the songs. I'm guessing thats because they couldn't dub the songs. Thats what you get when you import blu-rays from Germany I guess. Also, the movie didn't start straight away, you get the Main Menu first. This is my first German blu-ray, so I dunno if this is the done thing there, or just on REM blu-rays. Also, one minor personal issue: its a thin amaray case, like US ones, not UK ones. I don't like that. Gonna watch the whole movie sometime soon when I get the chance. Will comment more then" Credit : KeelHaul This post has been edited by sKyWiR3pT3lTd: May 26 2010, 06:11 PM |
