true enough that is the weakest department for holland.

Seriously, vlaar, van der weil, bronckhorst and heitinga is the best we could come up with.. From wat we saw from the qualifyings.. I think they're not as bad as ppl might think they are.. But not great either..

Well, attack is the best form of defense, hope that works for us..

But with good defensive midfielders like van bommel, de jong...i think should be able to cover the defensive line.

Defense don't come from individuals....Unlike attacking that based heavily in individuals....Defense at most of the time is a system...It depends on the strategy.

worried bout our defense....after Mexico sub Vela and Dos Santos IN..they kept on getting us pressure..and lucky keeper Marten had to do our job in defending....

Maybe we still need Van bronckhorst back there..35 yo still playing for country, no joke there..Either he's too good or holland's defence too scarce in talent..But i think a defence consisting of VB, vlaar, ooijer and der wiel is good enough..unless the opponent is argentina/spain..=.=

Is Heitinga one of the first 11? LOL, I still remember when he was playing at Atletico.

The prob's with this team probably its defences. Their attacking parts shouldn't have any problems.Just can't wait to watch their actions in WC.

I think his mistake was just by going to Atletico la. Atletico seem like a cursed team for defenders.

Elia is really impressive. Really changed the game after he came on.

A perfect group stage from the orange army.. But i still dun think the dutch are 100%.. I like bert.. He instilled simple and economical passing into the team, looking for an opening and playing the deadly ball.. I think sneijder still not 100%, neither is robben.. Hope they really warm up against slovakia, coz if we go thru, we would definitely face much classier sides..

Job done. Not well done, but done.
Good saves by stekelenburg.And an absolute cracker by robben, he nearly scored one exactly like that against cameroon.

I think is impossible for Holland to beat Brazil. Need GOD help on this match for Holland to win. But should congratulate Holland made it till quarter final. Better luck next time you guys.

with exception to the argentinian(which has 6 world-beating forward) and Spaniards(which has more key players up to the point Fab the lad is benched most of the time),the Dutch has the most complete players in all area

people like to see the history and quoting match as far back as 1970.the brazil today isn't the wonder brazil of 2002.

Brazil are strong in every department.. We may be stronger offensively, but on the defensive side of things i have to say they do have the upper hand.. Gonna work this afternoon, and miss the match.. sigh..

how was it unfair? Webb tried to neutralize everything to keep the match competitive, or else there could have been more red cards.

seriously, if the dutch win it will be such a injustice after their performance in this game, they could have easily end the match with 7-8 man. and only really Robben are playing well for the dutch

How was that fair? Total bizarre decisions, same act from both nations, different treatments for both nations.

Too many diving, card waving & dirty play. Hate to see that in a WC final. Netherlands did ok...Spain does not have my respect as worthy winners. I really dislike Iniesta, Busquets, Capdevilla & Torres after watching them in the WC.

Well deserved? By diving & cheating? TBH, Netherlands did not play well but so did Spain. It was actually anyone's game.

anyway, ignore that robert guy ngo..he got some serious problems with knvb, god knows why..
De jong was trying to play the ball so yellow was fine i think.. But that tackle from behind by van bommel sure deserved a red..
elia was double-teamed + tripped * no foul * and the resulting counter attack led to a goal..
The ref wasn't biased, but he din have the best of games IMHO..
Do not take it away from spain guys.. Be worthy losers.. We'll be back no worries..

there's no way he can get the ball with that kind of challenge ... in my opinion, anything above knee high studs up challenge deserves a red ... plus all the stuff that vbommel did, it's a miracle he's allowed to stay on the pitch past the first half ... had they got sent off, robben wouldn't get his chances ...

had the dutch played 'normal' football, i doubt the spanish team would have triple team tackled and dived ... just check the spain - germany match ...
