I want to have a local (as in SG) bank account to open up a stock account (having philip capital in mind) in SG. I have a passport and willing to travel down to SG to go to the banks to open.
-Msian citizen
-No SG job or earnings derived from SG
-Not SG PR or citizen
Opening an account in Singapore is pretty easy actually. However, it is recommended that you try with any of the local banks (eg. DBS/POSB, OCBC, UOB) or our very own Maybank. All of the banks in Singapore including international banks such as HSBC, Citibank, Standard Chartered, RBS
(soon to be rebranded into ANZ) and SBI, Maybank is the one to offer the highest interest rate in regular savings account. Besides, the minimum balance to avoid any penalty too is among the lowest among all the banks in Singapore. You can also link your Maybank Singapore account to your Maybank Malaysia account
(if you have any) if you have access to M2U.

As I only need 1 account, here are my questions:
-What bank recommended to open?
You should limit your option to Maybank, DBS/POSB, OCBC and UOB only.

-Minimum value to open the acc? (I got 10k SGD in MYR currently)
You have to check with the bank you intend to open an account about the minimum account opening deposit. Please bear in mind that all the savings account in Singapore have some sort of account service fee should your balance falls below certain amount. Usually it is S$500.

-How to bring the cash across? Wired transfer or by hand?
Just bring some SGD from Malaysia.
