Hmmm, was wondering if there is an official Godfinger thread ? Looking for peeps to add .

You know, I was one of the biggest skeptic of the iPad... in fact I was totally going for the HP Slate(until the specs were leaked out) as the iPad was nearing launch. Then I saw the reviews for iPad, especially regarding its battery life and I was immediately hooked.

For me, it is not a laptop replacement, hell not even a netbook, it is for me primarily an entertainment device. I've had many portable media players over the years, portable dvd players, that portable Creative device for videos(forgot the name), Archos 605 and I was never satisfied with any of those.. poor battery life... small screen.

I just got the ipad 32gb for a few days now and I've got to say I'm very happy about it, it does the things I expect it to do and it does it well. Anyways, fellow Gods!! add me : tnsai in Godfinger!!

I use handbrake and you can find the Ipad presets somewhere online. It works pretty well and quite fast, the only problem for me is that it makes my movies look a little dark, which I hope the devs are working on something to improve it. I tried Videora's but it made my vid haves this weird popping sound when I listened to it through the headphones. Not sure if it is due to the source material or videora itself.

Hmm It depends.. took 4hrs to re-encode a 720p vid to iPad resolutions(to save space).. took bout 4hrs for that 2hr 40 mins video. Where as it took me about 9mins or so to do a 22 min video where the res size was closer to my chosen output (iPad 16x9)

not sure what you mean by the first part, but yes if you have a better cpu, the encoding will happen much faster.

But frankly I've never seen a line like that and for it to happen for no apparent reason =_= *shudder*. At least you bought it officially, means you can get it exchanged easily ... fear for those of us who parallel import ... ..

For those using huawei e5830 modem, mind sharing what is the size of the thing? Would you say it is the size of an iPhone?

Hmm you know I agree on the point that you should know WHY you want to buy an iPad and not just because you think " OMG ITZ TEH COOLZZ" ... I've got a few people asking me if they should buy an iPad, which model to get etc etc..

and I told them quite simply and bluntly, if you need to ask those questions, then you shouldn't be wasting your money on one (unless you are freaking rich and the iPad's cost is nothing to you). I've already worked out what I will be using it for etc etc before making the purchase and I am now using it as I've intended and happy with it. Nothing bugs me more than people who just buy things to be in the "cool club" but finding no use for it and asking me to teach them how to use it to have "fun"

Heh that looks nice, I'm still looking for a suitable bag for me to carry my ipad around (especially useful when my wife goes shopping). Problem is I think bags like this will look weird on a fat guy like me T_T ..

I think it is that and also the fact that the iPad is inching ever closer to a local release date (or at least in Singapore ), so people are in a "I think I better wait a little while more for Malaysian release" kind of thing. Loving my ipad hehe, now at home I don't surf the net with my laptop anymore hehe (no Flash doesn't bother me at all ).

I did my own usage journal and found the battery level to be definitely more than what Apple stated. Btw, do you guys notice that even at the brightness slider all the way down, the brightness of the iPad is suitable for most conditions? The only place I turn it up a notch or so is when I am at my office with that damned 6 fluorescent light tubes over my head.

I think someone already mentioned a couple of posts back that you need to have a US iTunes account.

Has anybody tried the Camera Connection Kit with a compact flash card reader? Any particular brand?

Is it that NOT obvious that it is a parody ??

Anybody feels that the iPad app/game releases are slowing down ? I wonder if it is related to the iphone 4 and devs are switching to iphone 4 development.
