thx bro.... nod.gif , appreciated it .... notworthy.gif and one more question, is it need to buy camera connection kits to transfer movie / music / photo from PC to ipad ?? or just use itunes software ?? thx for reply ....
*
You can use iTunes in your PC or your MAC to transfer photos, videos, movies, audio etc to your iPAD but these must be in Apple accepted formats. The camera connection kit transfer only photos and videos through the ipad dock connector - is more convenient. I don't have it, so do not know how fast is transfer rate. But I do see many guys using it in this forum

any 1 here got jailbreak their ipad?
*
I believe quite a few us has JB our iPads. I jailbreak mine after few days usage - quite easy process, many advantages. Backgrounder was the first app I installed to enable multitasking , followed by few others from Cydia. But lost the jailbreak when I upgraded to 3.2.1 just to assess the wifi improvements. Now awaits the new Spirit version to JB again the ver 3.2.1

I have a question, can I connect an External HDD to transfer pictures from the iPad to the External HDD via the Camera connection kit?

Or must I jailbreak it to gain this functionality.

Worried that the built in storage is not enough for all the photos for my upcoming holiday
*
You can always transfer from iPAD your files, photos etc to the cloud . There are many options - popular ones are Dropbox, GoAruna. You can then access all these from your PC/or Mac

just wondering any one knows how to use yxplayer and open a file in a usb flash drive plugged into the camera connection kit ... ?

well i can get ifile to locate the file but just cant launch yxplayer from it ..

any ideas ?
*
I don't think you can do it as yxplayer is a 3rd party app and your video is most probably not supported since you want to use yxplayer. The camera connection kit will only allow you to open videos with apple's supported video formats. Maybe you can try the following method. I use the same method to open a windows wmv video file - it works

1. Email the file to yourself ; open in Goodreader - if file compatible with yxplayer - it would show you an option to open it with YXPlayer

2. Upload the file in Dropbox and access the file there

This is one of the hassle using the ipad if you wish to use 3rd party apps and non-supported video formats

You can google for Dropbox or Goodreader if you are unsure what this is all about. A quick tutorial can be found here : Saving files Dropbox

I saw iPad for sale in Sunway Pyramid, top floor near skating rink, just outside the digital center area. I also have a friend selling iPad and it comes with 1 year Apple care plan.

16 GB - RM 2600
32 GB - RM ???
64 GB - RM 3500
Something like that...

Did most of you 1) buy your iPad locally or 2) bought while overseas or 3) bought overseas and had it shipped here?

My iPad is coming in from US soon. Can't wait. Just wondering what is the best case for iPad you guys can recommend? I prefer a normal case like an iPhone cover rather than a book folder-like case....
*
The book type will protect the iPad screen , that's main reason why I choose it

The WiFi detection and lockup on my unit is excellent. It is all automatically done. I have use my iPad in so many places out from my house, never face such issue.
0. When you go to Settings/WiFi - the detection of networks is immediate and all available networks will show within 2-3 seconds
The update 3.2.1 suppose to fix some WiFi issues. Why don't you try update it to 3.2.1 first. If you are still having issues - the worst scenario is a hardware problem and better pray it is not

Yeah I know it's for prepaid. Which is awesome coz I only need to pay when I use it. And 90% of the time I'm at home using wifi. The only problem is to cut it. I'm scared I cut it wrong lol
*
It is very easy to cut down the card to a micro sim. What you need is just a sharp pair of scissors and a piece of paper. First, put the paper inside the sim slot. Use a soft point unused pen and trace the edges of the slot. Cut the shape out from the paper. Put the paper on top of your sim card and with a pen trace the shape onto the card. You can cut right to the edge of the RHS ( don't cut into it ); you'll have space left at the left hand side. To fit the top and bottom edge trim off accordingly - it is OK if you need to trim off slightly the gold edges t the top or bottom. The important area is the middle portion which should not be cut into.

Try it ; I am an old man and I can do it easily. If you are young which I gather most of you are, it shouldn't be a problem as your hands definately more stable than mine. I have help several of my friends to cut too as they're too scared to do it

iPad does not support flash natively
But u can tweak it using frash.
After that you can play simple flash games.

Btw it's in "beta" so not all flash can work.

Google about it.  icon_idea.gif
*
You need jailbreak first before you can install Frash. After that reset your ipad twice

Btw... Tell me something that you don't know about the iPad...

Bro - a lot of things I still don't know. I just got the iPAD only 1.5 months and stilll learning every day. To help others I have posted in my blog progressive updates on any issues I have face and resolve. I also do it just to convince myself that it is a worthwhile buy and not just dump it away .

I posted my opinion about the iPAD in some overseas apple enthusiasts forum and as usual was not well received:

QUOTE:
The iPad success story will make a good case study for business and marketing students. I have an iPad, honestly I will deem it an inferior product with so many limitations. Yet such a product could sell within days into million units and the number is growing every day. People all over UK, USA, Japan etc camp overnight and lineup to buy it. Till today, production still unable to meet demand. If this product is not an Apple, it’d have perished within days once released. I have deliberated on why I should or should not buy it in this blog. I have read so many reviews and user’s experience before I took the plunge. So, did I regret buying it ?

Answer : YES and NO

YES, because even with installing 3rd party software and setting up cloud accounts at Dropbox and GoAruna, the iPad as a possibility of replacing even my miserable HP netbook is only 50 % ! I’d be satisfied if it can meet 80 % of it, knowing it can never be a substitute for even a netbook
NO – because it was a great experience learning how to use a handicapped tablet . I jailbreak it after a week and of course on the way I did spend some money buying apps from the app store just to enhance it. That’s where Steve Jobs is now earning his extra money from. We users are paying extra to make better use of his iPad. I am spending only on basic necessities not even luxury apps like games, ebooks, etc. : UNQUOTE

Flipboard - no success yet ; still same old message overcapacity !

Now several queries about Flipboard legality : I quote from Gizmodo : Social news app Flipboard was yesterday's hot new app, despite—or perhaps because of—technical problems that prevented some features from working. But there might be a bigger snag: Is Flipboard scraping content it doesn't have the rights to?

Flipboard, the new iPad app that renders links from your Twitter feed and favorite sites in a beautiful, magazine-style layout, has a problem: it scrapes websites directly rather than using public RSS feeds, opening it to claims of copyright infringement.

Guys, I apologize if this question is asked before. I did a search but I couldn't find any answer.

I'm flying back from Hong Kong next week, will I be taxed for handcarry Ipad back from Hong Kong?
*
You won't be tax for 1 or 2 units. I have buy back notebooks from overseas few times already and never have tax; just tell them personal use if asked. At worst open the box on the spot to show them

There are few unscrupulous or shall I say opportunistic profiteering chaps in Singapore who bought up the ipads and most of the camera kits and now actively reselling it at the various online forums, some at retail outlets in SimLim.
The ipads are resold at an average S$200 to S$500 above official prices. The most unbelievable are the CCK units going for S$140 to S$150 - actual sales price around S$50 only.
Well these sellers are taking a gamble on the high demand
Anyway, there are still buyers who are not willing to wait

If you read the conditions in the use of credit card at the spore omline store, it is clearly stated that the delivery addresss must be same as the credit card address. This is part of a security control

Added on July 29, 2010, 4:56 pmhttp://www.wired.com/epicenter/2010/07/ipad-owner-are-selfish-elites-critics-are-independent-geeks-says-study/

It’s not exactly official, but should also surprise no one: According to a new study the psychological profile of iPad owners can be summed up as “selfish elites” while have-not critics are “independent geeks.”

Of course the “haves” would probably call the “have nots” “cheap wannabes” to which the “have nots” would retort: “FANBOI!!”

Consumer research firm MyType conducted the study, in which opinions of 20,000 people were analyzed between March and May. The firm’s conclusion was that iPad owners tend to be wealthy, sophisticated, highly educated and disproportionately interested in business and finance, while they scored terribly in the areas of altruism and kindness. In other words, “selfish elites.”

They are six times more likely to be “wealthy, well-educated, power-hungry, over-achieving, sophisticated, unkind and non-altruistic 30-50 year olds,” MyType’s Tim Koelkebeck told Wired.com.

96 percent those most likely to criticize the iPad, on the other hand, don’t even own one, although as geeks, they were slightly more likely to do so than the average population — and far more likely to have an opinion about the device one way or the other (updated). This group tends to be “self-directed young people who look down on conformity and are interested in videogames, computers, electronics, science and the internet,” said Koelkebeck

Based on owners feedback on hardwarezone.sg forums, both firmwares 3.2 and 3.2.1 are reported in the new sales. So depend on your luck which firmware you might get

My 5 sen advise from an old man :

If money is no issue, buy iPAD a expensive substandard tablet ; is a inbetween a netbook and a desktop with several limitations. Enjoy spending money with it while at same time enjoy all the frustrations and possibly spending more money ( buying apps ) to make it more enjoyable. As I am using the iPAD for the last 2 months, I can confidently tell you is an expensive TOY. Many might not agreed with me but that's how I see it. Buy it only if you have spare cash. The money would be better spend on buying or upgrading a notebook. Frankly I am shock that so many students are buying - their fathers must be generous and quite well off to allow such spending by their children. I will never spend such money. I don't mind buying a MacBook Air costing RM7k for my son but NEVER this. I told my children if they ever want this, go and earn the money to buy it.

If money is limited, I'd think you'll get more satisfaction buying a iPhone as it performs as aphone and its PDA features is acceptable as is meant to be designed as such
