To the DIY NN experts or any NN jersey printing experts.

nice forum, just found this yesterday, let's keep this positive!

I'm not a DIY NN expert, in fact have no experience. But I may try it with my local shop w/ their heat press machine; I'm getting tired of many of these established stores online claiming "professional service, careful attention to detail, specifications as that of the kitman/player, etc, "...and then only to be let down with these places returning rubbish(wrong style/color nameset, unsatisfactory labor quality, etc) after having spent many hard earned dollars.

Does anyone know say for example WC 2010 jerseys, Nike, Adidas, etc...the correct placement positioning of the name and number printings. E.g., how far below the name is placed from collar, or how far the number is placed below the bottom border of name letters? Because it's fairly easy enough the centering of a number, especially single digit, and the name block centering just with careful basic measuring..Are there already pre-determined instructions on the correct method for the approach and application for this? Or do the actual kitmen only know and keep this information more secure..

Or, is all this a subjective call just by personal opinion just by 'eyeballing' what is apparent on various media available, ?..

I hope posting questions about DIY NN technique is permitted. Cheers.

hi mate, do check out the 1st page there is already partial answers to your question there in one of the FAQs i think, prepared diligently by our Jerseyman smile.gif

There can never be a strict rule to the centimetre to determine the placement, bear in mind shirt sizes ranges from S to XXXL, so the distance and gap will surely differ. There can only be a rough guide for centralling the NNs. and then its about preference also. Some like it higher, and some like it lower etc.  Kitman are not gods, they do make the occassional errors at times too.

And posting questions on DIY is more than welcome here as alot of us here do DIY printing. But no discussion on sale and promotion of fake jerseys though smile.gif its not condone, thats the only restriction.

Thanks for the help sir. Of course it's not realistic to expect Perfectly done, though adequate leveling and alignment would be nice. Definitely agree with your point when it comes to printing on replicas ranging from S-XXXXL can greatly vary relatively...but if I'm adult L-XL size and the player I'm copying probably seems L-XL then it makes it valid to try and get the printings positioned accurately in the manner that the player is also wearing it..

My preference is that the seller really carefully takes the time to reproduce the transfers quality that appears as such consistently on the desired player/team..For my specific needs and purposes, generally I know what I'm looking for. but knowing precisely from an accurate source would be useful too. If not, the other option could be DIY..Then again another collector could just want a generic font and not the players' version and be okay with it just the same. Cheers

yup no hard and fast rules I'm afraid.  too many inconsistencies as well, if you were to take the example of WC 2010.  for instance, for Ghana, one game had the front numbers in the middle, while another had the front numbers on the left, to maximise visibility.  also, for Denmark's home kit, the names are very much lower as compared to the other teams.

however, there are guidelines for leagues though, as evident for the BPL.  i think the 'suggested' measurements are on the 1st page? if not, our resident jerseyman (schmeichel7) can help you out on that, as he has the attachment.

good luck mate.

hi, thanks for replying to me.

My intention is not to get this kind of information and printings to put on a Techfit or Formotion bought from the stores/auctions.I just like for my replica to look like a quality reflection of how and what the players on the TV are wearing. If not, then from my perspective I think I would have overpay and ruin the replica. I'm sure some "perfectionists " out there like me understand and agree.

thanks again.

Guys..

I'm planning to create a guide on how to buy jerseys at ebay and at kitbag. Will post it out later.. to help newbies. You can tie this guide later with the guide I created on how to use your maybank atm debit card to buy jerseys online.... check out the first page later.

Thanks!

Good heavens, kitbag...you can only put the number in three places, the center, the left, or the right...I know it's only a 1/3 chance of getting it right, but ....anyway. wow, I wonder what kitbag policy on returns for "customised" items...now, these shirts that have errors hopefully aren't like your own name and favorite number, etc, because that has 0% chance of refund or exchange. Sometimes vendors are really stubborn to take back name and number items in general. Like foxsoccershop confirmed to me over the phone that the umlaut/accent for players like OZIL is not available, even though the retail stock photos on their website showed it..and the operator said no refunds would be given for that, all in the fine print , etc..that was literally upsetting to waste time talking to that clown.

I would be upset as well, but what's even more upsetting is between the stories of their lousy name number printing application service and overall general customer service(email response time e.g.) I'm surprised so many even bother with them...this establishment if you read enough reviews is almost on par with the notorious uksoccershop.com..but good thing for me, at least, I've never had the disappointment or let down from either of them before because I never have ordered merchandise from them and never will.

Anyway, you should see what their Order Cancelation policy is..this should qualify, so see if that is a possibility because when you ordered initally there wasn't a "Pre-Order" notice on the item, or something like that right? However on the other hand on their customer policy maybe they warn that item stock fluctuation can be possible on their items and therefore you should have patience in ordering from them?

Part of getting an actual Refund when you eventually receive your item is to see if you're willing to go through all the inconvenience and hassles, of returning to Post Office, repackage the shirt, pay for packaging and shipping, wait for the item to arrive back to them, wait for the item to return to you and so forth..the philosophy perhaps is that oh well, maybe the customer expecting to to all that work/after having endured all that would think it's not worth it to bother for refund..

Chances seem bleak that we can get it...

Time to contact credit card company chargeback dept. and inform them about kitbag's antics to force refund then..

I just received a customised NN kit from kitbag.. a present for a friend and i must say i am not entirely satisfied with their service.. what to do, its cheaper than doing it locally and saves me the time to drive to KL

so even with 5 pounds off, i would doubt i will get any kits with NN from them...

What was unsatisfactory on the part of kitbag out of curiosity? It's disappointing that they seem to have many frustrated customers just by viewing internet posts alone, that this may be going on with many upset customers worldwide..
