these speakers are loud (lots of distortion). You probably can simply get a used dolby prologic amp should work. I doubt it will be worth investing in the new AVR coz i doubt the power will be enough to drive these speakers.
i used to own a pair of these and managed to sell it two years back n the guy uses it for karaoke using china karaoke amp.
