Hi Guys
Would like to ask is there any problem in playing games with using Plasma TV?
And
I saw some Lcd or plasma with "Gaming mode" function. What difference does that make?
Thanks in advanced
Added on May 15, 2010, 7:28 pmIve read Game mode said to minimize lag time between the controller and the on-screen action. So if theres no game mode for the plasma , will have any problem to it ?

Played games on both, don seem to have any problems.
I think what Game Mode means is the respond time AKA ghosting. Faster respond, no ghosting, no lag from image. And more vivid colour.

plasma don't have lag issue like lcd. so good for gaming. although plasma have burn-in issue. but i think newer plasma have a way around for this.

lag is practically too small (region of 5 miliseconds for older LCDs, some have reduced to 2 ms).
UNless you are playing shooters or fighting games where split second moves are crucial, you are not missing anything.
Plasma is more expensive, most companies are already moving away from plasma. I used to dream of owning a Pioneer plasma TV (Kuro), arguably the best plasma TV brand, beats any LCD TV anyday, but even they are discontinuing that product....

Thanks for the advise and comments. But Panasonic has again and again have new models for plasma.
But yes most of the brands like Sharp and Samsung , seldom u see any plasma from them.
Well i guess it all depends on individual usage. As long as it satisfy the individual then everything should be good adi lo.

Coming from a Guitar Hero player(I play everything on expert), the majority of plasma TVs I played on made everything that much hard. Songs that I could FC I couldn't even get 5 stars.
However, I own an LCD TV and that literally has like no lag. Works really well for FPS games and other fast paced games. I've tested it on RB1 and all Guitar Hero games, all the lag tests showed 0ms. If not it's some stupid number that's under 10.

QUOTE(Faidzal @ May 18 2010, 01:54 AM) Plasma is more expensive, most companies are already moving away from plasma. Actually, no. For 42-inch HDTVs... plasma is pretty much the only option if you're looking for something big with a budget of RM2,300 or below. In living rooms, nothing beats real estate... and plasma gives you the most real estate bang for your buck. I got a 42" LG plasma for RM2,000... and at that price there's really nothing to complain about.

That's not quite right, i've seen panny X series for about 2100... regarding Kuro, i always feel like Pioneer is way ahead of everybody else in PQ that they are selling Plasma which is too good and less people could afford.. spend to much in R&D to produce such amazing product but failed on business level... good news panny bought them and (hopefully) they could in few years implement Kuro tech into their line...
