there is a way. make the land registered under sdn bhd & be company own property. alternatively, u own the land.
Malay reserved land cannot be purchase by chinese, but they nvr said cannot be purchased by company.

of course malay reserved land is cheaper....however, it is not good for investment purposes as the value of this land is half of the land without such restriction.
The restriction is there for a reason.... hmm.gif ....
You may buy the land under a company name...however id you don't have the cash....
it will be very difficult for you to get financing as most banks will stay away from such lands because of the legal issues involved....
thats why those land left undeveloped....its not that nobody wants it....
its what you can do with it....in addition, these land normally meant for residential (dwelling houses) or agriculture use...
the potential is limited somehow....just my two cents worth... biggrin.gif

@ckkbin, please don't misguide people. You need bumi status company in order to purchase Malay Reserved Land.
If your company share is majoriry shareholder is chinese, what is the dif between buying individual and company?

@happy_gal, using bumi status company, means your bf will not have share inside. Are you willing to risk that? having majority share for bumi means it is above 51% and your bf only hold 49%.

Malay reserved land is cheaper than others has its own reason. Other type of status land is more expensive, because it is free to trade for all races.

You can ask for land broker services to help you out. Yes they will have 2-3% commission earned from you, but at least they have a wider contact in searching suitable land for you. Online posting land ads are limited and mostly has been through many brokers whereby they will markup the price and the info are not accurate.

If you want to save money, just advertise in the newspaper for 3 days stating that you are searching for land, (What status, how big, location etc.) Ask the owner/broker to give u a call.

@Wingz33
TS is talking about Malay reserved land. Malay reserved land cannot be converted. So please don't misguide anyone.

@economy crisis
As @zuiko497 has said, converted muslim is not a Malay (it can be chinese, indian and others). Malay reserved land means the land is only buy/sell among MALAY race.
