the graphic card is basically rubbish though for tht Toshiba

Haha, not everyone uses their notebook for gaming nod.gif
Notebooks with non- dedicated GC are generally cooler under normal usage, which explains why they often last longer than gaming machines T_____T

Something interesting (to me) laugh.gif ,just searched the internet on the meaning of "Portégé"... Actually there's no such word at all, only "Protégé".... So dunno Toshiba spelled wrongly or what laugh.gif
For those who are curious, Protégé means "One whose welfare, training, or career is promoted by an influential person" cited from http://www.answers.com/topic/prot-g icon_rolleyes.gif

Toshiba claims the Portege can last up to 11 hours..
I don't think there's an i5 variant rclxub.gif
Both the U5400 and i3-330UM should be better than the previous SU4100/SU7300.
But between U5400 and the i3, dunno which 1 is better laugh.gif

is thr any other laptop that is around same performance like this one?

i saw the ad for toshiba t series, the one with i3-330um, around 3k also, but in terms of battery n proc power, asus got better deal imo..

The Toshiba Portege T230 is not meant for gaming at all... its meant for battery life.. hence the ASUS would definitely be the better choice nod.gif

Good choice using the GMA HD I think haha

I am Ok with the i3 CPU. Not sure if the Intel HD sufficient or not.
Not a gamer mostly icon_rolleyes.gif

Well, there are i5 and i7 variants which should be able to handle most normal tasks without a problem~

Haha, definitely not gamers, probably girls only will buy ba because of the design? But still they might still fell for Vaios laugh.gif

Don't think Intel has something like that....
For the similar price, might as well take HP DV3, 13'' with i7 720QM....
*
The old DV 3 was very very hot (in terms of temperature)... wonder is there a change in the cooling system hmm.gif
The R700 boast of a specialized cooling system, dunno effective or not also haha laugh.gif

Yes, they sure will give 1.. Its Toshiba promotion.
If they don't give, or like last time PC Fair- give people Western Digital External HDD instead of Toshiba External HDD, you have the right to ask for the correct one. laugh.gif
