just some advise.
since u using a tripod, u can use smaller aperture (F5 or more than tht)
if still shaking. i suggest u use timer shoot.

70-300 is heavy that 55-200. by the way tis lens is sharp and nice. u can shoot moon everyday~ sweat.gif

Is a good lens. But since u r using D3000 at lowlight u might need flash to cover back. I own tis 70-300 lens before. At the end I sold it.. get 70-200 smile.gif

i own 70-300 last year december. just sold it on recently.... get the 70-200mm.

70-300 1st choice for economy ppls.

for u budget below 1k. i prefer 55-200mm 2nd is around rm600-700. 70-300 without VR hard to find i think around rm400+ or less than tht.
or u can try 3rd party lens like tamron, sigma n etc.

d90 + 70-300mm + flash... nice combo.. coz D90 iso control is better than D3000...
