hye everyone...
im quite new into the world of dslr..
hahaha...

been playing with my friend 400d lately..
love canon system because it is quite easy to use...
hehe...

but today,
went to my fren's wedding..
played with his photographer's d90...
quite impressed with its features and bla, bla, bla ....(well,it's D90 right??))

so..
im already been poisoned by him by suggesting me to buy d90...
made a survey on the price for d90..
hell no!
well above my budget la..

so..
since i already felt in love with nikon,
which nikon's entry level dslr's do you all suggest to me??

d3000 or d5000???

to be fair,im not so into video recording cause i knew that d5000 can record HD video...
so that will put me in pole position for d3000....

but,the main thing is that can d3000 produces pictures as goods as d5000???
besides, the AF for d3000 is quite lagging isn't based on some reviews i've read??
and the battery life for d5000 is quite poor compare to D90(based from my readings and surveys)
how about d3000 battery life performance??

i usually went to motor sport events(track,drift,drag,autoshow)..
so i like to take pictures of the cars and also willing to learn some panning shots technique in the future..

need an advise from you guys...
don't ever advise me to buy D90..
haha

yupp...
checked already..
haha...

but..
my friend said that he got some "lobang" that sell D90 quite cheap and warranted by nikon malaysia...
d90 with 18-105mm for about Rm2850...
it is a new set and not a second hand unit..
hehe...

so...
still have to save some money la...
haha...

anyway..
will try to get d5000 first....
but,im a little bit worried about the swivel lcd on d5000..
is it potentially to be broken?

plus,is it really true that d5000 have a smaller viewfinder compared to d90??
and if yes, does it effect much on us??

want to ask you something...
as a d5000 user,do you regularly use your camera video recording function??

p/s-how long eh before d90 ceases its production??any guess???

Wow ... tats cheap if u get that deal, do tells me if u get tat price!

Swivel LCD ... no worries, nikon body is very solid; of coz u not drop it la... swivel lcd have extra benefits whereby u may take self photos. raise higher cam to take better view, n most of all if u not using it, the lcd can closed lcd facing the body, extra protection from getting dusty, scratch and unwanted/accidental pressure.

small viewfinder, for me still ok la... the rest , let them answer... biggrin.gif

Camera recording, well yes... sometime dslr can takes video is not a bad function at all, altho the quality is not that great but sometime wanna taking its precious moment, i think it should serve a great instrument if u lazy carrying a videocamera and dslr with u la...

d90 cease production!? No idea... anyway, good luck in choosing one!

ouhh..
thanx for the input for the swivel lcd thingy..
hehehe...

alllright..
will inform u if i got d90 with that price...

u can get Nikkor 55-200 VR for rm900+, superb lens at a very affordable price
but with your rm2k budget u cant get Nikkor 70-300 VR, way better but at rm1.9k
if u r looking for all-in-1 telephoto zoom lenses, Nikkor 18-200 VR is way out of your budget, rm2.7k
can consider 18-105 VR at rm1.1k but with shorter range

i suggest not to get Tamron or Sigma's 70-300 as both dun have VC/OS(VR equivalent)
for all-in-1 telephoto zoom lens, can consider:
Sigma 18-125 OS rm1.5k
Sigma 18-200 OS rm1.8k

got Sigma 18-125 non-OS, Sigma 18-200 non-OS, Tamron 18-200 non-VC & Tamron 18-270 non-VC within your budget
but better not to take these as VC/OS/VR helps a lot at these telephoto range

super thanks for your info notworthy.gif .. notworthy.gif
hmmm..

now i can get a better choices of lensess...
thanx again

Sigma 18-200 OS rm1.8k

as for the above lenses, does it have VR??
