Hi, may I ask d40x can use 16gb memory card CL6?

I wanted to buy 16gb extreme III for my coming Bali trip. Will be going there for 7days. Afraid current 8gb not enough for my shooting. sweat.gif

since it can support SDHC, yeah i guess you can use it. but not sure about write speed if it makes any difference between a class 6 or class 4. anyway, class 6 extreme is good cause when transfering to your PC it's also very fast biggrin.gif

Icic. Then I need to search more info on CL6 and CL4 already. hmm.gif
Thanks!

nope, you need info on your D40x. class 4 and class 6 the difference is minimum write speed is 4mb/s and 6mb/s respectively. as for your camera, i dunno what's the buffer for writing the images onto your memory card. but to be on the safe side, get a class 6 lo then you can keep it for future use also without regretting biggrin.gif

Found it, is around 5 MB/sec for RAW images. I proceed to get CL6. biggrin.gif

Erm, never think of this also. sweat.gif

buy 2 8GB instead...at least when one of it spoiled,u still have another...and if u bring ur laptop, there is no need for 16gb...8 gb will be enough..as if u keep shooting,16 gb wont be enough too...tongue.gif

I won't carrying my heavy laptop for trip. Suffering neh. sweat.gif

Yeah, i agree with getting 2 x 8Gbs instead of 16gb card. But anyway, u can just bring along an external harddisk and go to any cybercafe to copy the pics to ur harddisk. That was what i did last time when i was using 2gb card

Good idea wor. hmm.gif

i don't think SD cards fail that easily, i don't mind using 16GB then at least i won't worry about space. bring 2 x 16GB la hehehe thumbup.gif

Erm..touch wood, all SD cards for my phone or camera is still in good condition. nod.gif

love this lens too, not a uwa, but IMO a very very nice walkabout street photography lens
bro, rmbr d weight of 200 f2?  brows.gif
Nikon users r lucky, FX bodies still can use DX lenses, Canon cannot...
u'll lose on resolution when using FX bodies in DX mode
but for some lenses using DX lenses in FX mode create very nice lomo tunnel effect
seen b4 pics taken with 35mm f/1.8G on D3 body  thumbup.gif
sumtimes flares can give nice ray of light effect, but not all d time la
Nikon's ADL helps a bit in improving d dynamic range
quite effective IMO except when d contrast between bright n dark areas r too high la
if dun have d necessary hardwares, HDR is your last resort, can try ADL oso
was it reli dark that time when u took d pics? very underexposed to me especially d 1st pic
maybe u shud try spot metering instead of matrix
if can afford more expensive higher class SD cards, then of cos no harm getting better 1
for D40x IMO u dun reli nid so much space if u jz take pics in Jpeg fine
IINM D40x with 8Gb card can take near or more than 1.2k pics
i thk 1x8Gb card is gud enuf for u, if u want to be safe, take 2x8Gb
how bout cropped sensor widest lens?  brows.gif
