Got the urge to plaster my wallpaper with the moeness of Kaminagi Ryoko. To think this is the character debut of HanaKana is so fitting!

IMHO, Zegapain was one of the more underrated anime from Sunrise. Sad really. Great concept, great character, a wee bit late to get the plot going, and quite satisfying ending. And that OP, oh god Akino Arai's voice is so good.

Absolutely recommended.

Zegapain is massively underrated, considering the concept it is trying to achieve. But considering how 2006 anime season goes, its just couldn't compete with the giant known as Haruhi. Plus, the pacing of the first few episodes also didn't hook the viewers enough....at least till Ryoko's awakening (which is IMHO, the point where the anime gets rolling). Maybe these is why Zegapain was quickly forgotten.

To put it simply...this is matrix+ mecha. Although for me, the mecha doesn't quite click with me. Instead, the characters and the storyline itself hooked me. Too bad it doesn't get the recognition IMO it deserved.

p/s: And Ryoko is lovely.
