yeh , it's a darker shift when move up and down from the 0 angle , I dont know how to explain well but it's like a darker bar shift when viewing in different angle .

Previous LCD will have white shift but this one have dark shift .
*
that's the viewing angle porblem for TN panel LCDs,IPS and VA panel LCDs don't have this problem [or it only affects the brightness a little bit]

Yalor, Never encounter this before. But the fact is there. the effect can be slowly noticeable without concentrate look at it after 4 hours continues turn on. I believe due to his temp goes higher. quickly switch off cool down to avoid it continues melt that "thing" (WTH is that!? hard coat 3H !? Inside!?) sweat.gif . Plan to put one fan at back by your advice. Good idea.

BTW 2nd picture that "watery"effect is due to camera. no related to lcd  smile.gif

This LCD quite hot. By putting hand at the back (not the cooling plate), for my own feeling. Its almost same as Graphic card "hot air" blow out by cooler. sigh... nearly 60'c? may even worst if touch the cooling plate inside.

Must have Smooth Air ventilation in your room.

That is quite hot, have you tried calling Dell on whether they can repair it or not?

Hi, all. er.. my question is not spoon feeding as i do some research but the answer does not satisfy me. Hence i looked up for user to share their experience. biggrin.gif

My question is, which one is better between Dell 2209WA and Dell U2311H.

does 1680 x 1050 make any different to human eye with 1980 x 1080 ?

and i heard that 2209WA wont suffer the tinting issue that U2311H have. And why the online price for Dell 2209WA is Rm749 while Dell U2311H is Rm649.  rclxub.gif

thanks. biggrin.gif

Generally speaking, the 2209WA doesn't have the tinting problem of the U2311H,eventhough not all have it but quite a number comes with this issue.IF your work depends on colour uniformity then you're better off with the 2209WA.If you like to gamble a bit, then get the U2311H.The difference in resolution is quite large, and it's something very much perceivable by your eyes

Can anyone recommend me a good ~20-24 inch monitor that can be bought in retail in stores in Lowyat for around RM600-700?

Planning to use it for mostly gaming (SC2) and watching 1080p movies; thanks in advance smile.gif

The adjustments that's made available by it's stand. Most LCD monitors have very little adjustments available [can only tilt for +-10 degrees doh.gif ]Not all people have the same torso heght thus with an adjustable stand the user can get their eyes to be parallel to the LCD.that way the colours won't wash out/become dark etc.
About ghosting, while a lot of TN panel LCDs claim they have 2ms response time, some of them have reverse ghosting.[They have trails in front of them, not in the back.]That is even worse.

The U2311H's response time isn't that bad really, sure it can't beat the XL2370/120Hz LCDs,but it holds it's own quite well against 5MS TN panel LCDs like the Acer S231HL here

Added on November 12, 2010, 2:58 pmabout power consumption, average TN Panel LED backlit LCDs use 27-28w,the U2311H use 33w,that's only 5-6w of difference which translates to RM7.8 savings per year [12 hours per day,RM0.3/kW]

Hey guys. Planning to buy a LCD monitor for my PS3 and PC related work to replace my freaking old CRT. Came across this model over at Dell's website. Do you guys think this will be a good buy?

Dell ST2320L

Thanks.
*
that LCD is just abysmal.Don't get it rclxub.gif
here's a review
http://www.pcmonitors.org/monitor-reviews/dell-st2320l

Looking at it's price,i highly suggest you get the U2311H instead. It has better colour reproduction, better viewing angles, better stand.

or if your budget is really tight you can consider the LG E2350T,it's not as good as the U2311H but still better than the ST2320L
