can explain more about DDI/CI?
i need to have accurate color on my monitor because im dealing with images & prints daily. so it a must.
*
DDC/CI means the screen can be calibrated using a PC software. The PC software can send instruction to adjust brightness, contrast, colour level, etc.

So from what I read, there are calibration hardwares which is bundled with the sofware which automatically calibrates the monitor.

Haha for those who received the U2311H on 6th October, I noticed on all the boxes it's stated X/26 indicating there are 26 U2311H dispatched on that day - I assume so, could be other monitors.

the reasons i conver to wide screnn is bcos i tried my bro-in-law star craft 2 on wide LCD laptop, seem can see more stuff from the screen...
thanks for your info...

actually i confirmed a AOC 22" LED from one of forumer @ RM470 new unit, will deal by tomorrow... hope my choice wont be wrong... smile.gif

Basically the 23 inch monitor would be slightly taller than your existing 19 inch monitor but much wider left and right

fix'ed
U2410 is exactly same height as 19" LCD
old >20" screen on 1600x1200 still taller than wide screen
*
I did a calculation using pythagores theorem.

19 inch 4:3 - height is 11.4", , width is 15.2"
23 inch 16:9 - height is 11.27", width is 20.04"

Don't believe me? Try to calculate

hypotenuse
a*2 + b*2 = c*2
height*2 + width*2 = screen size*2

19 inch
11.4*2 + 15.2*2 = 19*2

23 inch
11.27* + 20.04* = 23*2

Try comparing the height of the panel only, excluding the bezel biggrin.gif

your budget?Assuming your budget is around RM700,get the Dell U2311H from Dell Online. It doesn't have a HDMI port but you can use a DVI to HDMI converter for it.However it doesn't support 24p Blu-Ray playback [but iinm you can make it not play at 24p,right?]
*
If you insist on HDMI, go for the ST2420L smile.gif

my U2311H reach jor.how to check the bleeding issue?
*
If you don't even know what is bleeding, high chance is that you don't have any bleeding issue for you to worry about smile.gif

Anyway in a dark room, on the monitor showing a pure black image, you should see the backlight 'bleeding' from the sides, negligible though

Help!

My BenQ 21.5" E2200HD lcd monitor displays 'No signal detected' on dvi and hdmi ports. It has been intermittent for sometime now. Before, I suspected cable but then again its working fine. My pc is working normally too. I've tested using a laptop connected by hdmi to monitor with no avail. It only displays the logo and pops out the error then goes black.

And no, its not my screen settings (primary or secondary display seetings) cause I have no problem with that before. Maybe some faulty caps or power supply? (i dont know the LCD age, maybe 1.5-2yrs already, I've yet to recheck though on the warranty).

My last resort is to replace it if repairs are impractical. So yeah, can anyone suggest at least 21.5" lcd monitor (both for games + hd movies), may or may not have hdmi (dvi will do). Thanks.
*
Hmm, if you were to change, might as well go for an upgrade.

I'm not sure if you can rule out a cable, try borrowing another cable to try out.

Btw guys,

These monitors have 'Asset Management' or DDC/CI where the monitor parameters like the brightness can be adjust from the software.

Hence is there any power management software that will automatically dim the monitor upon idling? - I have my reasons for wanting such feature

Added on October 14, 2010, 4:33 pmFor those U2311H owners who just received your monitor~

Can you kindly check which Revision your monitor is?

is was sthg like REV A00 or REV A01
Most appreciate~
*
Haha, Rev A01 is so new, what are the chances of not getting a brand new unit?

Btw those of us who received after the LONG DELAY, all A01 la, I think they kept shipping you the A00 model.

THanks guys~
I also dunno why the heck they're kept sending me A00 and said currently their A01 stocks are all refurbish units, and cannot promise send me a brand new one...

really what the heck...
*
Insist for brand new A01, because you complained about the issue within 7 days, they can't treat this as a normal warranty.

Refurbished A01 can simply be an issue of taking parts from A00 and putting it there in A01

actually va panel are really good to my eye...i already compare u2410 with samsung 214t(not consumer product), and find out va panel are better in colour production, without calibration, its already look better, the downside maybe trailing when touching the panel..that why samsung stay strong on lcd tv market

If VA panel good for your eyes by all means go for it biggrin.gif

erm can i asking wat is the diff between Dell U2311H and Dell ST2420L..
which 1 is more better since the price was quite same...
*
U2311H - IPS Panel
ST2420L - TN Panel, LED backlight

All of us here would say go for IPS Panel, colour is better, you get height adjustment, swivel, tilt, rotate.

1 inch increase in size is no big deal, the height only increase around 0.2-0.3 inch, the width increases more

hhhmm. I may consider Dell Ultrasharp, but does the stand allow me to rotate to portrait? or do I need to get another stand?

I'm looking something similar to this.

or this.

Yes can rotate, but to stack two monitors on top of one another, you need a separate stand la
