lol looks like all of us who ordered last month just got it one shot. I have to say.. you've really gotta try using IPS to believe it. I have one TN and one IPS side by side now and there's really a lot of diff!

as for tinting issues.. i guess i'm not bothered by it, not really noticeable to me.. maybe i'm not in graphics editing so it's not an issue! highly recommended!

I struggled to identify any tinting, but I can't find any. Thank God my eyes are not so sensitive.

Btw, the whole IPS hoo haa doesn't apply to me, the colour seems normal and I think I know why. Before this I was using Samsung 932B+ which features a Magic Color feature which makes the colour very vivid. I guess the Magic Color attempts to emulate the 'vivid' colour of IPS panels.

Also, did you guys install the U2311H ICC colour profile? I did that.

And what about the default setting on the monitor such as birghtness/contrast, did you guys set anything about that?

I've looked up on this thread - some recommended settings

After calibration
Brightness: 30
Contrast: 75
Input Color Format: RGB
Mode Selection: Graphics
Sharpness: 50
Dynamic Contrast: Off
Response time: Overdrive
RGB: Custom
• R: 99
• G: 95
• B: 98

I did not install any profile - you got it from the cd?

Can't seem to find the overdrive thingy in the lcd menu - been looking for it!

Well...as for 2410... Is my last resort...

To be honest...2410 is the model with tinting issue wide spread at others country especially US... Forumers over there been discussing all day long.

The answer they get from the Dell personnel is as long as the brightness at the middle point of the monitor under certain factory specification then the whole monitor is consider GOOD.

I heard from others forum said that U2311H got Rev A01 ady... Made in Oct 2010...

This noon just Live Chat with the Dell Monitor Personnel... He ask me to request a 'Brand New Unit' replacement for the 4th times... Yes which meant those two I'd received are refurbish units (no wonder the packaging looks old).

He said, he believe that the New U2311H (I'm not sure what he meant by 'new'...might be the revision batch A01? I don't know) should be zero color tinting issue. He did said that U2311H is not suitable for photo or design work purposes (perhaps they're already knew the existing of the tinting issue?) and suggest atleast a 24" coz the panel is diff level.

sounds like the transaction got stuck halfway through...
same like my case, not dell, but an online shop
you need to email your screenshot together...happened to me before using fpx...
the money was stuck in the middle, emailed but no response whatsoever,
they say "confirming order" for a week

after I emailed a sc(which was in my sis laptop, you dont know how hard to teach blind IT ppl), they processed my order in 2 minutes,
and dispatched it later that day
you have sc, they will process asap, if not, you'll be sitting under a pile of stuck transaction.

btw, IPS really have difference, try watching full hd movie from bluray.
but now, LED tn panels are catching up, those 120hz monitors really can display motion better, eventhough color reproduction not so good
I thought it was gimmick, until I see side by side.
120hz monitors, if you play full hd movies, sometimes looks like a recorded stage play, movement feels like the movie was recorded live. thumbup.gif

... and I freakin hate it. Soap Drama effect is not for me I guess.. 120Hz Lcds are good for HD sports channel especially for soccer and football. icon_rolleyes.gif

EDIT: Saw some that ordered online got their LCD already, since Dell restocked the u2311 LCD, I think this would be the best time to get it, right? Or should I wait a bit longer?

Yeap, sort of smile.gif Also I complained to Dell about the misery that I have been put through those delay, and they told me that they will improve their systems that stock availability will be confirmed when place your order so that you need to be tricked into waiting so long like most of us here.

Might as well get a 32 inch Full HD tv right. Btw, consider getting the VESA stand that allows 2 monitors to be stacked one on top the other.
