QUOTE(D.Sync @ Aug 16 2010, 12:47 PM) Hi guys. Is there any solution to output full resolution of 2560x1440 via HDMI or any converter of some sort? Possible with HDMI 1.3b and above.... trouble is no chipset on the monitor (or converter) is capable of handling anything than SL-DVI's resolution bandwith (a bit more than 1200p). VGA can go beyond 2560x1440... again very rarely do monitor equipt a chipset capable for more resolution. These high res. monitor usually ignores (don't have) analog inputs. Only Dell IPS 30" has stereo and subwoofer output, but price is high. http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/c...en&s=bsd&~tab=5However if you don't mind the TN panel, the latest with LED backlightning will have HDMI input but no sound output. http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/c...dhs1&l=en&s=dhs

DP= Display Port, smaller than DVI, capability as DL-DVI IIANM, commonly found in Apple Macs and Cinema Display.
DL-DVI = Dual Link DVI, same port as DVI but more pins to provide extra bandwidth for transferring huge data for resolution above 1920x1080 which normal DVI couldn't deliver.

so this one have the dual link dvi? DL-DVI: nope ... not required... only for Displays exceeding 1920x1200 res. or true 120Hz displays.

Some monitor with dynamic contrast is just adjusting the screen brightness according to the displayed contents. So I don't really find much use of it as it really annoying. Dynamic contrast like xxxxx:1 and more is pure marketing gimmick. An ips panel will pawn those TN panels.

So it is not possible to output such resolution using laptop then with HDMI. Sigh, it's really a nice screen. Is there any adapter/converter exist?

VA2223WM 1920 x 1080 (F/HD) 16,000;1 5ms 300 cd/m2 Analog/ DVI VX2233WM 21.5" 16:9 1920 x 1080 (F/HD) 18,000:1 5ms 300 cd/m2 Analog/ DVI VA2231WM 21.5" wide, 1920x1080 (Full HD), 100,000:1 (DCR), 5ms, Analog & DVI, Speakers
I looking to get 1 of this. Any suggestion which model are good for gaming from above list? I going to use Gigabyte 460 1GB OC card for it. (I think VA2223WM and VA2231WM coming without DVI cable). Is that any different when usin VGA cable compare to DVI-D cable?)
