Any M2 owners installed the alarm with brake lock in kl/pj? when arming, does it chirp once and then 2 chirps about 3 secs later? I find that if you delay the arming (i don't know how long yet) then the second 2 chirps will not sound. According to the manual, the second 2 chirps means that alarm was triggered while system was arming. Should I send it back to check? Besides this, the alarm works ok.

The burglar could just take his sweet time to break your locks and ransack your car since there is alarm sound to deter him.

I understand that. But if there is no alarm system, the horn will not sound. Immobilizer is not an alarm system. If the car sound the horn when there is an illegal entry then it has an alarm system. If no sound then no alarm system.

I'm not arguing here. Just for the benefit of potential M2 buyers so they are better informed as to the need to install alarm system or not.

So does the horn sound or not? Till now this is still not made clear. I can't confirm as I already installed alarm.

If it horn does sounds then there is no need to install alarm (unless you want better one)
If it does not sound, people can decide whether to install or not.

How many % highway / %city to get this FC?

I get only about 350-360km using ron95, but my travel distance is short about 10km per trip. Roughly how many km do you cover per trip? I suspect distance travelled per trip also affect FC.

Can you check this for me. When you disarm but don't open the doors, does the alarm auto arm back after around 30 secs as stated in the manual?

I waited around 1 minute, unlock door manually and started car, no alarm! So auto rearm function is disabled??
The doors does auto lock but probably from the factory keyless entry system.

yup done at mazda (GS shop). When armed, the alarm will trigger when you unlock the car manually, don't even need to open the door.

According to the manual, it's a programmable function. Maybe they turned it off for a reason. Just too lazy to send back.

Please update if you have the same "problem" and decide to send back.

RM0.50/km using ron95 @ rm1.80, would give 27.7 l/100km or 3.6 km/l !!!

don't think any modern cars will have such bad fuel consumption. Typical values would be around 10km/l for city driving. If you drive on highway a lot the figures will be even better.

Remember this, company claims is not intended for you to make money. It is priced so as to help you with petrol as well as service & maintenaince of you car since you are using your car for company business.

Isn't the next service at 10km ?? Why yours at 5km?

S will only go to 2nd gear not 3rd gear. HOLD is like O/D off but slightly different as it holds to that gear and does not down shift. Maybe only in the D position for when you are moving from standstill.
