seriously i don't understand why you all don't watch ALL the game thru live streaming at astro.com.my ? quality much better and no lagging. The only thing you need to do is ask someone who is a maxis user to register for you and also to 'trick' the astro page that you are actually logging in from Malaysia since we're in Sg. 

I think it is even worse now.. Got rejected twice already....anyone have any idea doing an appeal ?

  Do you think that this is way faster than the normal queue.  Just curious, how long does it takes for you to get from CIQ to getting on the bus in Singapore daily?  And agak agak what time did you start your journey?  I am just three weeks into my stay here in SG so exploring a lot of things. 

  Also, I heard from my friend that some of the ppl do Taxi Pool everyday from MY to SG.  Heard of that before anyone?

Nowadays even simple repair jobs are being outsourced to china. But people do it at their own risk or are desperate. Recently there was one DNV ship which came from china, the whole engine room was flooded with fuel since the fuel lines were done in china. I heard the DNV surveyor in china is gonna get it, but then again, you get what you paid for and the ching chong surveyor was doing his job ala "close one eye".

I had a colleague who went to china and noticed most of the workers over there are unskilled, talk about asking a farmer with no prior knowledge in machine fabrication to do their job properly and in accordance to DNV standards. Heck they even defecate themselves in the workplace, and a woman no less.

I guess everybody in the shipping industry will have headaches once china produced start pumping out at an increasing rate due to south korea and japan shipyards having their hands full with pre-orders till 2012.

My company just hired a new Tech Service & Development Engineer. The chap was in KL and moved to Singapore to join us. We gave him 2 months stay at a serviced apartment at Cairnhill Rd and one-off relocation assistance of roughly 1-2 months salary. The cash was paid to him on the first day of work so that he does not have to wait until pay day to get money to pay deposits for rental, buy necessities etc.

As for joining bonus, my company does sometimes pay for experienced hires. It's usually based on the value of stock options, deferred shares, deferred bonus, long service bonus, long service leave etc that the candidate had accumulated from his previous job.

For those chaps whom we really, REALLY want to hire, we'll give them an additional bonus to compensate them for the loss of service years at their previous job. Usually 1 month of salary per year of service.

Hi Guys, I got offered an Engineer Post from a MNC company doing optical engineering. The salary they offered is SGD3000. Is it too low or average for a person with one year working experience?

I think HDB can only ask HDB buyers to make a declaration. There's really no way for them to check what your assets are overseas.

LOOOLL i knowww, im trying to copy their way of handling stuff now. I learn from my Singaporean colleague, he always writes complain email and CC to entire village.

what will you do if you are a PR over 10 years and the GOV ask you to convert or they will not renew your PR? Anyone here had received the letter of "offer" mentioned by SM Goh just few days ago?

Other than convert, I can think of
1) work under work permit/ employment pass.
2) apply other country PR.
3) Sell the HDB and do own business.

If the Gov don't renew our PR, will they fairly return our CPF money?  Sure have to sell our HDB but it is ok as the price is high now.
