1. No need to mention your location unless you believe being Malaysian is advantageous
2. Malaysia master degree graduate with no experience - SGD 3.5k (better than bachelor fresh grads)
3. In general, there is no need to mention exact salary expectation unless it is a low-end job or company is small
4. Experience is more valuable than anything.  Since you do not have experience, show your initiatives and attitude.

Hmm towards the question 1), if is fine not to mention the location however, during the call interview, they will ask your current location. That would be an issue as once they knew that your are in Msia, they might be reluctant to ask you to come to SG for the interview, depending on which location you are in Msia. Most of them are fine with ppl who are located in Johor as they are nearer than other states.

I am staying and working in Selangor, and looking for a job in SG, however most of them are interview calls only. Due to the fact I am working in Selangor and probably to far to ask me to come for the interview.

A few time I went down to SG for interview, and the most surprising was, the interviewer thought I was from Johor doh.gif . Funny and they don't read your resume in detail. rclxub.gif

Anybody who have successful venture in SG, please advise. Thanks. notworthy.gif

I'm from Melaka, usually they will just arrange time for an interview. Sometimes if I lazy, I will request them to do phone interview. But from Melaka take earliest bus to Sg, reach also noon ady, so I guess any further and it's not realistic to expect the candidate to go down for face 2 face interview.

Incidentally my friend from Klang got call for 2nd interview, which must be f2f, so he will have to spend a night at his hostel in Melaka before going down.

Don't need to think so much, just apply and if the company wants you they will let you know. I secured a job thru just a phone interview once, even tho the HR told me if I passed phone interview I would still need to go down for f2f. Sometimes it's about luck, and meeting the right interviewer with authority to go against established company policy if they find you to be a suitable candidate.
