QUOTE(Chrisky @ Oct 29 2010, 10:26 AM)
try cal MOM n ask for reason (if there's any). Mine once got rejected before becoz of 'inconsistent information' wif my previous application, which is actually not a big deal itself at all.

yar.. now the company appealing for me and they wanna know the reason as well...

ask ur comp to appeal for it, but that wil take 3 to 4 weeks.
*
yup... they are appealing... suppose to start work on money but now still cant start work... haihz...

QUOTE(keelim @ Oct 29 2010, 10:57 AM)
You may need to provide more details about yourself, the application and your job. Most if not all advice shared by forumers are based on anecdotal experience. This is especially true concerning the secrecy of MOM and ICA's when reviewing applications in their back offices.
*
yar... i think so... coz i hav asked my frenz and they felt weird as well... then they said mayb i needa give more details of myself and so on... but now is the company that help me to apply for the pass...

QUOTE(Jurlique @ Oct 29 2010, 11:07 AM)
Did you change job every 2-3 mths?
MOM hates job hoppers.
*
nop... this is my first job... i'm a fresh graduate btw...

QUOTE(Chrisky @ Oct 29 2010, 11:14 AM)
i doubt that MOM actually care n give a damn abt job hopping. Applying a pass means u got some1 (which is the employer) to 'sponsor' u, if the employer ok then shouldnt be an issue.
*
yar... i've already signed the LOA from the company... they also dont know why... but now they are appealing... hope no problem with that...

QUOTE(washabushi @ Oct 29 2010, 11:56 AM)
lol...but i know someone actually face this problem...
*
hope is not me coz this is my 1st job...

QUOTE(danny_ptlm @ Oct 29 2010, 01:33 PM)
May you share with us ,

1) your education? degree or etc
2) Position to be applied
3) years of experience that related to work
4) salary offer.. range...
5) and importnat its your company size (as you know, MOM is more strict for EP/SPass)

QUOTE(seantang @ Oct 29 2010, 08:15 PM)

Is the company applying S-Pass for you? Judging from the salary given to you, you won't be eligible for an employment pass. The lowest employment pass (Q1) has a minimum salary of S$2.5K.

I believe you're quite underpaid coz my experience is quite similar to yours and I got enough to qualify for a Q1 pass. FYI, I'm a mechanical engineer (Bachelor degree with honours) of about 1 1/2 years experience.

P.S- Please tighten up your facebook's privacy settings. Some petty employers that I know do check on that.

Good luck with your appeal! I hope your pass will be approved soon.
*
hmmz... i not sure too... coz now i juz wanna hav workin experience 1st... i dont hav any workin experience at all...

btw, regarding the facebook wat do they check?? i dont think my facebook got sometin for them to check... hmmz... mind to share more??

thanks for that... hoping can get approved as well...

Polymer... you mean polyolefins and elastomers etc?

If so, Exxon is the biggest in terms of having a mfg asset on the ground. There's also Mitsui. Most chemical MNCs have a regional or Asia HQ in Singapore, where their sales, marketing, tech service and R&D people are based. Huntsman for instance, even has their global coatings HQ in Singapore.

yup yup..
okok... will look at their website those... thanks a lot for the listing... really appreciate it so much...

You can find a job while your in singapore, getting a new job means you have to cancel your current permit, get out of singapore, and then do the whole thing with your new employer as you have done with your current one.
*
QUOTE(nicvoo @ Nov 20 2010, 09:15 AM)
cancel yes, get out of sg? unless u hav an intention to go back home yes else u can jus cont
*
QUOTE(crapp0 @ Nov 20 2010, 09:22 AM)
Arent you supposed to leave the country since your permit is canceled. If im not mistaken alot of china people do this whereby their permit is canceled by the employer but they never leave the country.

Bingo, thats what plagues permit holders. Its singaporean governments way of telling you not to take job hopping so lightly.

if u were working for comp A went comp B interview comp B offered sign offer letter
come back gif resign letter to comp A
serve notice period, on last day comp A cancel work pass and withhold pay to pay watever tax is due
start work in comp B the following day where HR of comp B would hav already applied via online for your new work pass on the day u start work they get your passport u or hr will go to MOM to get the workpass

been thr done tat in sg 2 times

personally never been rejected b4, if rejected sure for a reason e.g. doc not complete unless they found out sum unlawful things u hav done

i doubt they'll reject any application due to job hopping simply becos comp B has agreed to hire u mostly is wrong info, not enuf info provided or the comp's quota exceed.
*
ok... thanks a lot den... should wait till after cny and discuss wit my parents den dat time decide how... if really no choice mayb hav to run bak to malaysia... coz dis job i really dont like... seems like not my job as i cannot learn more things... haihz...
