Are you working already? What position are you looking for? Sometimes it's a bit of luck also...

Current political climate, and also increased worker levy starting soon may discourage some companies from recruiting across the causeway. But for bigger companies usually they already have a working relationship with MOM so the permit application, although an extra step to deal with, is not a big problem for them.

Furthermore, hiring foreign workers means they immediately save on some 1x% of CPF contribution, and they get to offer a lower salary compared to locals. Or sometimes certain jobs its harder to get locals to join due to negative perception towards the job. One of my fren, an engineering fresh grad, is only working for 2k salary over there. As long as the dollars make sense, they will always be willing.

I'm currently not working but I worked 2 yrs before as Accounting Analyst in 1 of the MNC's in kl..I'm doing ACCA now which I expect to complete next mth.

I'm hoping to get a job which I can start in July coz I don't want to waste my time looking for jobs after grad.I have not been working for 1yr since the previous job.

seems like it's hard for me to get a job in sg.. sad.gif sad.gif

I hardly call splitting the profits of a casino monopoly a "contribution".

Give anyone an entire hill and a casino licence, they will make the same "contribution" if not more. LGT's claim to fame is his ability to persuade succeeding UMNO govts to keep issuing his licence.

If it's any consolation, GKS was a Malacca boy.

Besides being an ACCA finalist, do you have a degree?

How long more before you have accumulated enough working experience to get the ACCA?
*
yea. i had my degree 2 yrs ago..came out to work for 2 yrs after my degree.now left 1 more yr to to complete 3yrs exp.. smile.gif

With an accounting degree, ACCA finalist and 2 years of post-graduation experience, you should be quite hot in the Sg job market assuming your degree and experience were from respectable establishments. Perhaps try the accounting firms first. They are more willing to accept non-residents due to their higher turnover.
*
Accounting firms like big4 u mean?? I prefer to work in commercial line such as HP,P&G,IBM, etc..not really keen in audit though..but i did try to apply kpmg in spore..no news as usual..but I will still continue my job hunting in spore though but at the same time im looking in KL area as well. can't afford to choose anywhere I like although I prefer to work in sg more.

I choose companies, they choose me..just have to follow the rules of the game...all i need is alot of luck~~!!!!hahaha~~~

Yes, Big4 are typically more willing to get EPs for freshies. The MNCs will not to bother to hire foreigners if there are equivalent local applicants available. For junior staff, my company will usually only go through this for internal transfers ie. someone from our office in another country being transferred to Singapore. The exception is for hard to find skills like specific language capabilities or SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) etc.

i see. i will try to look for more options..thanks for the info..i'll have to get my sleep now. goodnite ya~~ smile.gif smile.gif

if your results are good PM me ... I can get you an interview.
*
May i know how good is good?? i will only get my result in August. I am considered as haven't complete ACCA yet until August once I get my result. so am i still eligible?? I am a moderate student not with genius brains though..but even results are good in Degree/ ACCA, some might not be able to do good in the real world. I am very confident with my working experience and my knowledge of Accounting though. Not everybody is perfect, people tends to have flaws somewhere. We improved as time goes by.

So if you think I am eligible to it, I'll be glad to PM you for further details.. so can I?? smile.gif smile.gif

I wouldn't give up any chances on job-hunting but I wouldn't put too much hope as well..More hope more disappointment..

Anyway, I'll be glad to get an interview through LYN.hahaha~~

You should put in hope
For everything you want to achieve, you must start visualizing it now, like what my lecturer once told me, visualize yourself receiving the award, getting what you want, achieving all the satisfaction. smile.gif
*
Don't get me wrong..Of course I will put in hope but not 100%.. when you have hope you have future..i will continue to hope in my job hunting ~don't worry..hahaha~~ biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
