Anyone have any good headhunter or job agencies to recommend? I am looking around for a greener patch but not much offering for IT/banking project consultant at the usual sites (JobsDB, Jobstreet, etc).

For those who work in Apple and NCS, did you try the bak kut teh for lunch at the Seletar Garden?

I usually go there when I miss malaysia style bak kut teh but lately the taste is not as good as before. Change cook?

one thing i learn about singaporean cuisine...even tho the name of the dish might be same as in malaysia, this does not necessarily mean the same dish similar to how hokkien mee is different in Penang vs everywhere else in malaysia.

last time i ordered prawn noodle in sg, it should more aptly be called pepper noodle!

For RWS, VIP as in silver, gold or platinum card?
*
i was offered gold last time, but i rejected tongue.gif, my mom was screaming when she saw my silver, keke. if u are a silver Genting/RWS member, u will automatically given gold in Marina Bay Sands. if u are a gold, u will be given platinum. But this year slow down edi. in SG, no feel to gamble. cause i go Genting mainly because i wanted to drive up and down the hill only. fastest record from Serdang - hill top in 45 mins biggrin.gif.

Hi Lester,
u weighted 123kg!! wow!! i thot SG employers very particular on outlook?

Only 13mins from your MRT to YCK station? which station you're from?
*
I got my job without even going through any face to face interview, only go through phone interview. and guess what, on my 1st day, i ask my HR how long is probation bcoz not stated in offer letter. they said once u are hired, u are confirmed and permanent. biggrin.gif

I am around 107-108kg now. lost around 15kg for the past 7 months. i didn't control my diet. i just do a bit of exercise in the gym 2-3 time a week. 1 i like about SG is i can find durian ice kacang in every single kopitiam. i think i eat almost 4 bowl a week. i think if i can control and stop eating that, i will lose more weight biggrin.gif

It affects if you cant fit through a manhole, hatch or your weight may pose a safety issue if your doing rope access along side a riser pipe on a jack up rig.

Yup. You can just go to any Starhub shop, open an account and buy a cable modem or rent a set top box - take it home, hook it up and you're online and/or have cable tv. Make sure they don't charge you the installation fee.

WTA, has anyone given up their Malaysian credit card(s) due to the RM50 govt tax?

If so, do you know which Singaporean credit card that has the lowest effective foreign currency transaction fee?

Most cards will entail a total of 2.5% forex transaction fee (1% taken by Visa or Mastercard, plus another 1.5% admin fee by the bank). On top of the bank, the forex rates charged aren't that hot either.

Cheapest plain vanilla I found is Maybank at 1% + 1.25%.

CIMB pretty good as they have a 1% rebate on all spend from zero... so it ends up 1% + 1.5% - 1%.

Std Chartered's Manhattan card has a tiered rebate program up to 5% but the top tier is only if you charge $3K a month to the card.

Otherwise, it'll be a Malaysian debit card for me.

better get UOB one card then... spend $900 3 months consecutively, get $90 back (or spend $300 for 3 mths to get $30 back)... but only these 2 tiers available.

best rebate program so far unless u spend much much more than $900 a month.

Are you using Malaysian registered bike or Singaporean registered bike? Mind sharing with me the procedures in either one. Interested in using bike also.
*
Staying in Singapore and not traveling to JB of course is SG bike.
No procedure. Just goto any motorbike shop, hunt for the motorbike that you want (heard no installment for foreigner), they will settle the rest for you. 1st year working here can use MY license. Subsequently has to get SG license by 1) take basic theory test, 2) get JPJ extract (get from PJ or KL is better) and finally 3) apply for the convert.
Think all SG bikes has electric starter. However, I got problem with it after rain and therefore has removed it (just letting u know my experience).
For the ERP, you can either use Cash Card or apply direct charge into credit card - www.motorpay.com.sg (there is small amount of monthly subscription fee). Do not leave your cash card in your bike lest it will be stolen after few weeks.
Coupon parking can buy it from 7-11 (20 pieces for SGD15 if not mistaken). HDB parking apply at https://services2.hdb.gov.sg/webapp/BN22ISPS/BN22Main.jsp

That's all. Hope this help.

Generally pasir ris and tampines are cheap compared to those closer to the city centre.

You can get a 4 bed room executive apartment for $1900.
