Yea, do some homework by searching the Telco's web site, or if u're lazy enough, just call their customer service and ask them to help u tongue.gif

call customer service and wait 1.30hours?? That's my experience..
From my past experiences, I will just leave it on loud speaker and do my work
The explanation i got for the long waiting time is : sorry, high call rate.
*
seriously.. it's really becoz of high call rate! some customers told me they waited for 3-4 hrs.... tongue.gif

Hey guys, which bank is the best to open in SG? I've opened OCBC Bank because my fren said it's the fastest bank for salary to come in! tongue.gif

Any 2 cents?

yup... posb/dbs always long queue.. i always lol at them when you can easily use your UOB card at the no-queue UOB ATM just next to it. Also, UOB ATM Card can be used on OCBC ATMs (if not wrong, up to 3 times per month no charge)

also the features you mentioned are very nice... really power that an ATM card can do so many things these days..  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif
*
But I've also applied for the OCBC Debit Card, it's called YES card.. It has many features, includes EzyLink and Paywave and others... And to be honest, OCBC is the fastest bank that salary comes in... Be it GIRO or others... Let's say the pay day is on Sunday, but Friday afternoon, I checked my account summary, salary alrdy in laugh.gif

Lester, true... I think Citibank is really sucks in online shopping... Will try out the YES card for online shopping once i got it tongue.gif

Actually, there's no fastest bank. Like someone mentioned, if your bank account is in the same bank as your company's account - then you get your salary on the same day that the bank processes the payment instruction.

If you and your company have accounts with different banks, the it has to go through the common interbank settlement process, which take 2 working days IIRC.

And I think you are seeing the float amount in your bank account. The float amount appears in your statement usually the same day that the payment request is processed, but the actual funds are not available until a day or two later after settlement.

Lastly, most MNCs will pay salaries a working day or two earlier if the payroll date falls on a bank holiday.

I personally use DBS/POSB for the sheer number of branches and atms. Their online banking is pretty good, one of the few where you pay bills and GIRO from credit card instead of savings. I also have Maybank iSavvy and Std Chartered e$aver for the high interest rates.
*
Well, i can differentiate float amount or the actual money that alrdy in.. The amount that i talking about is the physical amount that in the bank which able to withdraw the money of... Hmm, maybe I haven't compare with colleagues that using Citibank thus I don't know mine or Citibank faster, but mine is definitely faster than DBS/POSB and few other banks. tongue.gif

I wanted to apply DBS debit card, becoz of the Takashimaya card that they give! but thinking of need to maintain at least $500 in the bank every month, I think I just stick with OCBC enough... sad.gif

You haven't been working long enough leh. You'll soon learn that 'he/she who proposes suggestions/improvement, becomes project manager accountable for the results'. The only exception is if you're the boss, and can assign someone to do it.
