I have never come across any audio file with ultrasonic format or extension. Most swiftlet's sound were either in .mp3 or .wav. So my guess is playing a normal .mp3 track in ultrasonic amp.

There is a consultant who is offering his services in a very different way.

I may be wrong but basically the conditions are as follows.

Consultant :-

builds a large multi storey BH to his plans and furnishes it as per his plans only. No input allowed from owner. Owner pays all costs and expenses.

has total control over the BH incl. harvests,  for 2 to 3 years.  Owner is not allowed to enter the BH.

The consultant will hand over the BH with at least 1000 nest by the end of the period.

The charges will be Rm1000 per nest ( though other sources say as low as Rm250 per nest )

EPS is cheap to produce and practical, so it will be used for quite some time, especially in Malaysia unless world markets ban the use of EPS in packaging.

Many countries now use a form of expanded corn starch(cellulose) which is eco friendly.

Almost all man made polymers are not eco friendly.

Should we worry about something that may not affect us in our lifetime? You bet ! Nipping the 'disaster to be' in the bud will be better than solving the problem when it gets out of hand.

The use of chemicals also affect the insects that feed the swiftlets which in turn affect the nests they produce.  Not looking so far down the chain, some even use chemicals directly on the nests. Unnecessary treatment of nests for cosmetic reasons may actually be detrimental in the near future. If sterilization is necessary there are universally approved methods.

Everyone should create the awareness that NATURAL nests are not pure white, nests turn yellowish in time without affecting the efficacy of the nests and of course the yellowish nest are more mature, which, similar to wine may be better.

The emergence of artificially hatched and captive bred swiftlets will open a Pandora's box of belief that our nests may be tainted.

Heat is emitted from a hot body via the infra red spectrum. Hence the term "infra red heat".

Matt Black bodies emit more efficiently than shining white bodies. So Black bodies also absorb heat whilst shining white bodies reflect heat.

Infra red heat will cross a vacuum. There is no conduction or convection through vacuum.

As with any form of heat transfer, there implies that there must be a difference or gradient between the 2 bodies.

Conduction and convection are both probably far more efficient at transferring heat than radiation. eg. touch is conduction, being very close is usually convection, as in touching hot water, holding your hand very close above hot water and part radiation when you hold your hands to the side, avoiding the hot air.

Radiation is also subject to the inverse square law where if you double the distance you quarter the radiation. Which is why our Sun does not burn us to crisp.

A radiant barrier is a shiny white surface as in aluminium foil, mirror surfaces etc. that will reflect heat transfer by radiation.

Some special paints have specialised particles that reflect such heat. As the heat from out sun is radiant, having such paints will be effective in reducing the radiation from the sun. Manufacturer claims may seem miraculous but in actual practice, the paints' performance decreases very quickly with time. Similarly, shining aluminium foil becomes dull very quickly.

Spacecraft rely on pure Gold foil for lasting effects. Space is relatively dust free whereas on Earth, dust will quickly settle and render the shining surface as good as gone.

So, do we need a radiant barrier.

IMHO, it is unnecessary and impractical, especially in a stand alone BH where you can use insulation like EPS. In the event that insulation is not good enough, then painting the top white might help(but that requires mantainence).  OTOH, spreading a little muck on the top and allowing moss and algae to grow will effectively reduce very much radiation from the sun as this vegetation will effectively absorb the heat. So far most people in Malaysia have been happy with using 3" EPS to maintain about 29-31 deg. c. Lower temperatures might not be good for the hatching of eggs.

If you look over their site...all the consumer has to rely on is a label with serial nos....
All these silliness just so the consumer has a label to check on the origin?
Customers are not interested in the origin...they want to know they have unadulterated EBN.
Serial nos can easily be duplicated and consumers do not always have a means to verify them anyways.
This is an overkill!!!
A simple and elegant solution to all these is just a little more proactive enforcement.

All these will not detract from the fact that some folks are not doing their jobs and if they do they mess it up further.

There is also a comment that harvesting has to be done with govt officer's presence!!!!
So we now have to work on THEIR time table too??

All these unnecessary processes and additional bureaucracy will degenerate into the Bh operators having to bear the consequence of non compliance of a non value add process in the 1st place.

Personally, as a person from a science background I tend to be skeptical of all the 'claims' of consuming bird's nest. Like what philoswiftlet bro said, BN isn't magic bullet but the industry tend to try and paint this perception onto the consumers so they will pay extravagant prices for BN, especially red ones.

I'm just an investor, if there is demand for BN then there is value for the nests. Monetary value and not nutritional value. I'm pretty sure there are some fibres, proteins, carbs etc inside a BN, but claims like rejuvenating your skin and curing cough, those just seem very far fetched considering any of you that has been industry see how these factories process the nests, you'd be lucky if you're not poisoned from eating them.

So my fellow sifus stop thinking too much abt the nutritional value of BNs, it is just a gourmet food. Like white ppl have their truffles and caviar. Good caviar like Beluga caviar can sell for 500 USD /pound, even more expensive than BN. But it is just fish eggs, nothing special. Same for nests, just saliva in my humble opinion. But people pay good price for it so why not? At least I'm not dying my nests red ......

as i know ,Kuala Selangor, Tanjong Karang , Sugai Besar and Sekinchan got many BH in paddy field....especially Sekinchan and Sungai besar . i heard from my friend Sekinchan got around 100 new BH in paddy feild.but no ppl kacau them....so is legal.
