Has anyone download the lastest Solaris 10, and successfully install it on x86 platform....
The cd that i burned from ISO image just won't boot for installation process....
Got any ideas to initiate the install boot. huh.gif

What's the error message?
boot.bin missing or not found? or something else?

I can boot it, at least.
*.iso images.. Burn using Nero 6... using option "Disc at once/96".
No problem at all.
Perhaps you should try that too.

make sure you burn the iso file. not the zip file because it came in zip file.

mine is working.

nice JDE (java desktop enviroment). smile.gif

maybe i know how's the performance on x86 machine? i got the dvd no time to install yet. not yet try out the JDE but i guess it will be very nice GUI but lagging all time rite?

I used to have a installed copy of x86 solaris 8. dropped it as there are no oracle db for such OS that time.

As for the new oracle 10g, they only supports x86 solaris 9. too bad.

Better stick with RHE.

JDE is OK... suited for users coming from a Windows background.
