QUOTE(zstan @ May 18 2010, 04:08 PM) lol..tot u just want take the sun ma...but if u wan moving clouds..unless the wind really big.u need more than 30s lo... actually u wrong, 30sc in daylight will get white screen there.. or when sunset time u will reli overexprosure shot.. thats why must use ND filter there..but u dun reli need the filter.. increase f number..then u can lower shutter speed liao...ND doesn't really serve a big purpose here...IMnoobO... QUOTE(lwliam @ May 19 2010, 12:21 PM) ahpinko, in the mainstream, there are full frame sensors and APS-C aka crop sensors. APS-C does not mean auto what focus with continuous.. 0MG, how did u get to that, i really wonder.. i just wonder why canon didnt have 1.5x APSC.. maybe canon user can explain more..On our alpha's it's all 1.5x cropped (canons are 1.6x, then there's the 1.3x APS-H on the 1D mkIV, olympus uses the four thirds [written as 4/3] being a 2x cropped meaning a lenses written as 16mm when attached to the body will have a view of 32mm on a FF), meaning that compared to a full frame sensor, what you see is approx. 2/3 of what u will see on a FF, thus giving an advantage for telephoto lens users. |

QUOTE(shootkk @ May 19 2010, 03:03 PM) But the point is that it is a bad starting point. Knowing that a certain image was taken with a certain ISO, shutter speed and aperture tells you next to nothing useful if you are not there when the picture is taken. shootkk-san, somehow exif also can help the new user to understand about technical thingy.. its not a bad starting point from my POV, when i was new to dslr i always want to see the exif, i want to get some idea how to setting this n that.. its about learning process, somehow if we can see the numbers at exif we can get some rough idea, not totally copy the setting from others because yes ur rite back then about we will not be in the same situation like when the original picture was taken. You cannot see how the light was at the time. You cannot see how close or far away the camera was to the subject. How on earth would you know if you should replicate the settings if you were not there to see the situation in the first place? Beginners need to understand that ISO, aperture and shutter speed functions as one combination to get you your exposure level and DOF. If you want more DOF then stop down the aperture but they should understand that stopping down the aperture will result in the shutter speed becoming longer to achieve the same level of exposure. If they want the shutter speed to remain unchanged, then they will have to bump up their ISO. How in the world would numbers in the EXIF data teach anyone that? |
