So, my answer to the topic is sometimes I buy.
Games that I usually buy are games that have multiplayer split screen like RE5, Borderlands and CoDWaW.
For me, I wont buy the game if the PC counterpart is announced, cos PC graphics more kaw.Id rather wait 5-6months than buy ps3 version to play early.(example is AC2 and Darksiders)

And pc games is also dirt cheap sometimes, cos got steam promotion.
last week, Dirt 2 was 75% off, thats 9.99$, very "dirt" cheap indeed tongue.gif

What about you guys?

Me it is the other way around. I'm a PC gamer and recently got a PS3 slim. I already have Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter 4 for PC. So I'm thinking of getting the updated versions for the console, unless they announce Super Street Fighter 4/ Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition for PC. Even Batman Arkham Asylum. I bought the PC version, so maybe thinking of getting the Game Of The Year Edition for PS3.

The trouble now is Assassin's Creed II. The PC version is cheaper and includes the available dlc already in the game compared to the PS3 version where you would have to buy separately. However, the PC version has stupid DRM methods to be constantly connected to the Internet which can affect my playing with our crappy Internet service (being disconnected all the time).

Right now I want to play PS3 exclusives not available on the PC such as the God Of War series and Heavy Rain. Even Alan Wake which was announced for PC previously was cancelled to remain an Xbox 360 eclusive. So now not sure if want to get a 360. smile.gif

Yes, sometimes I buy PS3 games that are also on PC. I don't have a decent PC to run such games anyway.

i don't have a pc, but if everything is equal (like good graphics card, hook up to your HD tv, installation is a breeze coz your pc is sooo compatible with this game, bla bla bla), why not pc. its cheaper so why not again.

err...the question is not about buying pc games...its about getting ps3 games that available on pc oso.

I think based on the answers, got 3 types of ppl,
1 is more comfortable playing on ps3 and/or pc not powerful, hence buy ps3 games even got pc version.(usually rich ppl rolleyes.gif )
another is budget tight ppl, ps3 only for exclusives
and the last one is like me, for the offline multiplayer option that dont have on pc version

i did answer the question implicitly. to make it explicit i would add: Therefore, no i won't get a ps3 game that is also available on pc if i have a pc.

some game are meant for consoles and some are better for pc.. its best u research first before buying. usually pc port sux, its already design for consoles so u will have better quality graphics but only higher reso (expection like metro2033 they put extra effort for the pc version).
ubi server drm is a pain in the butt, like buyin the game and have to wait for months before they fix it.

Well I will definitely opt for PS3 exclusives. Why get a PS3 just to play games that are available on PC? Although PC does seems superior in terms of graphic and performance compared to PS3, provided you got a powerful rig, nothing still beats the luxury you had with a PS3.
